GUNS N' ROSES Guitarist BUMBLEFOOT Comments On Latest Song Leak - Feb. 22, 2007
The WMMR radio station in Philadelphia played what appeared to be a rough-mix album version of the new GUNS N' ROSES track "Better" Wednesday morning (February 21). The song has also popped up various download sites, prompting the band's management to contact all sites carrying the MP3 to request its removal.

Current GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal weighed in on the latest leak with the following posting on his web site forum: "This is why leaks are a problem. It's like working on a painting, and someone displaying it when it's only half done. It hurts the artist because something's getting out there that people assume is the final version, the best version, etc. The other people that it hurts are the FANS — I mean, the *real* fans, the ones that care the most.

"The latest 'leak' is obviously some experimental mix of 'Better' — not any version I ever heard, but I don't claim to have heard everything that's out there... Whoever put it out there did a real mindfucking of the fans, especially to do it now, when the album's release is growing closer.

"I have faith in everyone involved in the mixing of the album that they won't disappoint, they'll stay true to what you love about GN'R."

GUNS N' ROSES is gearing up to begin a world tour in April. The band has already announced two dates in South Africa — its first ever — and plans are reportedly in the works to bring the group to Japan, Thailand, South Africa, South America, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand. Whether GN'R will be supporting the long-delayed "Chinese Democracy" album is not known. With two weeks to go before singer W. Axl Rose's tentatively announced March 6 release date, there have been no signs that the CD will surface anytime soon.

GUNS N' ROSES will headline South Africa's My Coke Festival in Johannesburg on April 27 and Cape Town on May 1.

The band did complete its first successful North American road trip in over a decade last year, along with a European trek.

Ive got Better and IRS and both versions sound great even if they are rough mixes which they don't sound like, the album will be out soon and its gonna be an epic from what i've heard its very political and when everyone hears it they will know why it took 13 years to make because it will be fuckin great.

Ha, ha, ha - that was classic :

the only people who are doing a real mindfucking of the fans is Guns and Roses by taking ten years to release an album.

Why a "leak" - the album of this idiotic "G'n R" Karaoke Coverband was supposed to come out in 1998 or 2001 so to speak of a leak in this monumental scam is ridiculous and pathetic !!

My Coke Festival ?!?!? WTF ! ?!?

Reminds me of the Britney Spears Pepsi concerts... !!

Funny about the album's release "growing closer" (March 6, or something?) yet no record stores have received posters, stickers or pre-orders.

You're a hater but let's face it, where there is hate there is love.

You love to hate the new GNR and you hate to love them, but that doesnt take away the fact that you do love them.

The opposite of love is not hate but indifference...if you were indifferent you wouldn't even be posting on axl related news...unless you were really really bored and had no life..... ;)

You're a fan and waiting for the album like the rest of us.

'The opposite of love is not hate but indifference.'

Well my dictionary is telling me that the antonym for Love is Hate.

I admit that my dictionary could be at fault but it seems more likely that in conformation with the general hypothesis G'N'R ARE indeed a bag of rancid toss....

Actually the opposife of love IS indifference. You won't find that in a dictionary, but you will find that in any Psychology Of Emotion 101 text.

The Feed My Coke Addiction Tour will be a resounding success.

Becoming an old, washed up G'N'R fan is even more tragic than being a sad, old rock star.

Decrepit, bandanna-wearing acolytes be warned!

nevermind I say. Axl helped make one of the best albums ever, that's not bad going. But he's got problems. He's bi-polar by the looks of it, but even he knows that when he puts the album out it will blow his cover - that thread of belief that exists in some people that it will be great. He wants to put that off for as long as possible because in the absence of a full reunion of the original line-up, he's got nothing else to pull out of the bag.
We've heard half the album either in live or demo form, it's not great but it might make for a good rock record - it's not the end of the world either way.
