LACUNA COIL: 'Karmacode' Certified Silver In Italy - Feb. 23, 2007
Century Media Records has announced that LACUNA COIL's "Karmacode" has been certified silver in the band's home country, Italy.

Commented vocalist Cristina Scabbia: "It's so amazing to get a recognition like this in our own country. It's amazing to know that this is not a fake prize to get more promotion impressing the media but something that we REALLY deserved for the sold copies of the album 'Karmacode'. We worked so hard and with so much passion for this during these years that people got our message strong and clear. The fans are our family and this silver record is for them, most of all, for the support they gave us during the years. Thank you so much."

A photo of LACUNA COIL and members of the Century Media staff with the silver-album plaques can be viewed at this location.

After completing work on their next video for the song "Within Me" in early March, the band will embark on the latest instalment of the Jägermeister Music Tour alongside STONE SOUR and SHADOWS FALL. The trek, which kicks off on March 23 and runs through early May, is the group's fourth U.S. run in support of the "Karmacode" album. This summer LACUNA COIL will make select festival appearances in Europe.

Sell 25.000 copies in their own country for an italian band that is outselling US market is nothing.

Hopefully "Karmacode" won't outsell "Comalies" so Lacuna Coil will return to thier metallic roots and leave the Korn effects pedals in the closet for the next album and turn Cristina's vocals back up.

Aye, I agree. I'm glad to see Lacuna Coil getting some well-deserved recognition, however, I also prefer older releases like "Comalies" and "In a Reverie" over "Karmacode".

Excellent news, I been a fan since I discovered them on those Century Media " Identity " series, back in 1999. This band has always appeared in " Ill-literature Heavy Metal Magazie " when they were the official voice of "Gothic " Metal.

I could care less that the band moved into the terrority that only bands such as Evanscence and Naio Ssasion, occupied.

Lacuna Coil picked up where the Gathering Left off, and that is good enough for me, because now Octavia Sperati picks up where Lacuna Coil left off.

And that music genre that was started with The 3rd and the Mortal, The Gathering, Theatre of Tragedy, Tristania, Pale Forest, Cybele, Madder Mortem, still lives on. Because Lacuna Coil was a big part of that.

Lacuna Coil would have to really sellout big time, for me to stop listening to their music.

I personal do not feel " betrayed " or whatever by Lacuna Coil's " Karma Code" why did so many people obtain it/ then complain about "Karma Code" when there are 30 Million titles always in print.

Long Live Launa Coil !!!!

Lacuna Coil Clone bands are coming out.
..................................................
Name every L.C. knock off/ rip off band in every country around the world. Start with Russia and work your way to Canada to Norway then to Australia. Totally a bizarre statement.

The Gathering, Nightwish, Visions of Atlantis, Epica...yeah, if you like boring bands with female vocalists that are singing like fake sopranos, or that are singing ok but they have no personality and stay on stage without moving or with fans on them to make move their hair......bah.
LC rules.Period. And silver in Italy is a BIG issue, where nobody sell records but Laura Pausini and Ramazzotti. LC sell like big acts (like Pink, Outcast and other musicians you expect to sell more just cause they have a bigger budget to let this video rotating). Most of you don't know shit about the business anyway. Who cares.
