KORN, VELVET REVOLVER, LAMB OF GOD, DIMMU BORGIR, DRAGONFORCE and DEVILDRIVER have been confirmed for the Download festival, set to take place June 8-10 at Donington Park, Leicestershire, England. The festival billing is shaping up as follows:

BRING ME THE HORIZION
DEVILDRIVER
DIMMU BORGIR
DRAGONFORCE
IRON MAIDEN
(June 10 headliner)
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE
KORN
LAMB OF GOD
LINKIN PARK
(June 9 headliner)
MARILYN MANSON
MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE
(June 8 headliner)
SLAYER
VELVET REVOLVER
WOLFMOTHER

The Download festival is a three-day rock/metal/punk festival held annually at the spiritual home of rock music in England — Donington Park, which hosted the Monsters of Rock festivals between 1980 and 1996, and 2002's Ozzfest. It takes place in early summer, and is owned and managed by Live Nation, a company owned by Clear Channel Communications.

Download festival 2006 — which featured headliners TOOL, METALLICA and GUNS N' ROSES — was said to be a huge success, with 75,000 visitors each day.

For such a new festival, it's shocking to see the same bands re-appearing every year or two. Are there no other metal bands who deserve a chance? Or is it purely a cash cow for the organizers?

Hmmmmmmm

*strokes his chin and ponders

They should add another english band to this set like My Dying Bride. That way Iron Maiden wouldn't be the only metal band there.

My Chemical and LP? Headliners? Fuck that!

Slayer, Maiden and LoG should be the fuckin' headliners!

I always wanted to go to a European festival because the line-ups were top notch. This year however, is bullshit. Boot the headliners except Maiden of course. Seriously I would much rather see Korn headline then MCR or LP.
