Report: All VAN HALEN Members To Attend ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME Induction

According to Premiere Radio Networks, all the members of VAN HALEN — Eddie and Alex Van Halen, David Lee Roth, Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar — have told the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that they will be attending the induction ceremony on March 12 in New York. Roth, Anthony and Hagar had said from the start that they would be there, and Premiere Radio Networks learned last night (Thursday, March 1) that Eddie and Alex have reserved a table for themselves and their families. However, they will not be performing. VELVET REVOLVER will pay tribute to them, with the band's Scott Weiland and Slash actually inducting them. This marks the second year in a row that one of the inductees, who are all there and accounted for, will not perform. METALLICA paid tribute to a non-performing BLACK SABBATH last year.
For the first time the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be broadcast live on VH1 Classic, and be streamed on AOL without commercials. The ceremony will air on Monday, March 12 at 8:00 p.m. Previous induction ceremonies were only offered on a tape-delay basis on VH1.

Eddie's drug problem had little to do with the first breakup, maybe it possibly was the cause of the breakup of Van Halen mach II, possibly, since Valarie still is cool with Hagar.

but Gary was a puppet during the Eddie "I am the only one stint" with Hagar. Did you know officially Hagar was never fired nor quit. Eddie just decided to do an album without Hagar, it was a flop and didn't make much $, and Eddie did everything on that album;
the Instruments
the Backing Vocals
the production
the music
the lyrics
the whole anchalada.
Sorry, that was definitely an ERA that we and the R n R H O F should stay away from.

Even with Iron Maiden, Bruce and Steve had serious arguments but they both eventually said hey, Bruce can sing and Steve can write, so fuck it, let's do this thing *as well as we can* and focus on the positives, not the negatives.
Just like in the non-music world, if someone you work with irritates you, fine, just get on with the work if at all possible.

Eddie played some of his best guitar work after '84.
Van Halen was, I think, and alot of non-Van Halen fans think,
A better band for their music and lyrics after Sammy went aboard
5150 - 0U812 - F.U.C.K. - Balance - Humans Beings and
the 3 songs from '04-'05 were probably Van Halens best production and most popular work done from any rock band at that time.
I mean Eddies Guitar work on those albums was so great sounding and with Sammy and Mikey's vocals backed with Alex's drums were unstoppable only to Eddie's alcoholism. that brought
such a powerful band down back in '98 after the Twister CD
I listen to the earlier VH but I'll tell you the later ROCKED and there is no way you can say it didn't.
I miss Van Halen, yeh I still listen to all the albums and
the Van Hagar CD's really make me wish they could of stayed together for the past 10 years to make more great Rock and Roll.
But, their getting old and Sammy and Mikey are doing their own thing, and Eddie just won't beable to bring it back,, not with Sammy and definitely not with DLR.

What the f**k is up with the VH brothers lately? they reunited with HAGAR just to let the relationship fall apart... now they reunite with the mighty DLR but replace MAD anthony with a kid that didnt even exist when the ORIGINAL HALEN was tearing shit up!!! and to top it all off... they decline to perform in the biggest ceremony of their career!!! oh well, I guess the acceptance speech (if they show up) should be a highlight in it self...

Sammy was the last Front man for the band, So he is Van Halen.
