GUNS N' ROSES Keyboardist Reveals 'The Truth' About The Leaked Song 'Better' - Mar. 13, 2007
The new GUNS N' ROSES song "Better" has been receiving airplay across the country, but there is no official single release. No one seems to know where the song came from or how it got out. Did GUNS N’ ROSES purposely leak the track?

"Here's what I know," keyboardist Dizzy Reed explains to GunsNRoses.com. "We were doing a commercial with Harley-Davidson. Harley was going to do a version using 'Paradise City' and another version using 'Better'. Their web site even had a version up for like one day with 'Better', but the version of 'Better' that they had was an unfinished, unapproved demo. That's why it was removed. The version that's getting airplay is that same demo.

"Our understanding of how that happened is that an experimental edit using 'Better' in place of 'Paradise City' was somehow accidentally mislabeled as the 'Paradise City' Harley-Davidson video/commercial and was inadvertently released on the Internet. We believe the 'leak' came from this source tape and someone with access to it.

"For the record, absolutely none of the songs that have been leaked have come from the band or our organization. None of the songs that have been leaked are anything more than demo versions, works in progress. No final mixes.

"It's really frustrating working on something as hard as we have and then having it wind up on the Internet before it’s finished. Hearing a demo on the radio really sucks."

To see a copy of the letter the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota radio station 93X Rocks (KXXR-FM) received from Axl Rose's attorneys demanding that they "cease and desist" from any further broadcast of "Better" or any song from "Chinese Democracy" until such time that such broadcast is authorized, click here.

The last time that I heard that song, it sounded overly produced!

Someone should tell these guys that you can't polish a turd!!

The "GnR" camp make it sounds like the worst thing that can happen, is that some one gets to hear their 13 year old music.

If indeed the leaked songs weren't let out intentionally (which certainly must be the case sometimes), who the hell had them in the first place to leak? If you're going to let people hear what you're working on, you should be selective in choosing who it is and what all they're allowed access to.

I still have to wonder how albums and songs get 'leaked' well before their actual release - and it's not just because "it's the internet". One would expect that with Chinese Democracy, the security surrounding it should be rather tight. Apparently not.

If nothing else, the RIAA should look at -that- instead of suing fans left and right and trying to squeeze more money from their artists and their fans. Try going after the people that make the music available before it's supposed to be out.

Has anybody listened to any songs from CD yet?

I can't imagine that they can catch up with the general expectations. Anyway, Axl raised the bar so high by waiting 13 years (how does that sound..) that no human being is able to fullfill the expectations.

BUT, if I see that the latest best of sold millions...ts - this thing will also sell millions - people are stupid enough!!!

would everyone that keeps buying tickets, and albums, please quit helping this band out for fuck sakes.

These guys are a complete joke, and are making a mockery of their fans.
It is no different than saying "fetch" and watch the idiots all run to the store to buy "the best of" again, and keep saying "Axl is God"..... when are you all gonna wake up for once.
Quit feeding their egos, and quit buying their shit!!!!!!!!!!!

Put them where they belong!!!!!! NOWHERE!!!

Part of me wants them to release this ASAP just so I don't have to hear about it anymore. Another part of me hopes this never gets released.

It would be too funny if Axl handed the record company the "finished" version and they never released it.

Do you have any idea how frustrating it is to wait over ten years for a new album that you know can't live up to the hype?

Blah, blah, blah. Just release the damn thing.

How much you wanna bet it WAS the final version until negative feedback started pouring in?
