WHITESNAKE: New Studio Album Tentatively Due In October - Mar. 18, 2007
WHITESNAKE frontman David Coverdale has issued the following update:

"I am thrilled, erect nipples an' all, with the new songs [for the upcoming WHITESNAKE album, tentatively titled 'Good to be Bad'] and very excited to be presenting them to [the fans] later this year. SPV's [Records] wishlist is for an October release, so we're not having to pressure ourselves with too extreme a deadline. God willing, those days be gone. As far as touring, it appears this will also be late summer, as the ENTIRE WORLD is out there on the road thro' the summer, doing their very best to seduce y'all. My U.S. agent told me that every single amphitheatre in every major city in the States has a 'name' act headlining every night of the week this season... So unless any significant touring opportunity presents itself I think we'll concentrate on making a cracking record that will make us all proud...

"I was talking with Doug [Aldrich, WHITESNAKE guitarist] recently that I was thinking that some of the new [WHITESNAKE] songs could use some of Glenn's [Hughes, Coverdale's ex-DEEP PURPLE bandmate] extraordinary singing, but, just a thought at this time. I haven't discussed anything with him. We shall have to see how that goes, so please don’t be holding me to anything. Glenn and I were in touch recently, with him telling me about his tour in Russia. He tells me there is great interest in a DEEP PURPLE Mk. 3 reunion over there."

WHITESNAKE's video for the new studio song "Ready to Rock" has been posted online at this location (Real Media). The track is one of four previously unreleased cuts that appear on WHITESNAKE's new live record, entitled "Live… In the Shadow of the Blues", which was issued in Europe in November via Steamhammer/SPV Records.

WHITESNAKE will release a 20th anniversary reissue of the multi-platinum "1987" album (featuring a bonus DVD) sometime in the spring.

They've already confirmed Glenn's participation. This post is a lie... a strategic lie.

Damnit I appreciate David Coverdale, probably as much as
T-Boner loves Vinnie Vincent! Furthermore I'm looking forward to this since it doesn't seem to be another "Into the light" kinda deal. I know that was David's solo album, and not Serpens Albus, but nontheless...

now if we can just get lord, blackmore (damn it candice!) and paice, it'll be just fine. Whitesnake rules, live in the heart of the city is one of the best live albums ever.

If Blackmore would say yes to working with Paice and Lord again (and if Lord comes out of retirement and Paice doesn't hate Blackmore and etc), a Deep Purple Mrk III reunion would be incredible.

Burn and Stormbringer are so good and they deserve to be in the spotlight again (since the touring Purple won't touch anything off of these releases).

Deep Purple!

Proper WHITESNAKE 'died' after Slide It In record. Everyone knows that. Now don't get me wrong, as this comes from a guy with a Whitesnake tattoo on his shoulder! The old original logo, of course.

Long live Whitesnake 1977-1984!

whitesnake tat, thats dedication, respect, but i love the 1987 record not as good as live in the heart of the city. but i think its a great album john sykes guitar playin is phenomenal, don't like the vai stuff (don't like vai) but i saw whitesnake live last year in newcastle and they were awesome so far from dead. as long as DC's still singing his arse off trousersnake lives.
