IRON MAIDEN Performs For 30,000 Fans In India; Video Available

IndianExpress.com reports that over 30,000 fans were treated to the best of IRON MAIDEN in Bangalore Saturday night (March 17), as the world famous heavy metal troupe touched base with India for the first time ever. The six-member British band pumped out a nearly two-hour-long live set comprising its most popular tracks, leaving fans panting for more. The run-up to the show was marked by unprecedented frenzy in Bangalore, despite a sizable feast of rock and roll in recent times. The Saturday night concert brought fans in droves from across the country. Hundreds of young and old who have plugged into IRON MAIDEN's exhilarating sound and their dark but introspective lyrics at different points of time over the past 25 years gathered to head bang live to the music. The band members, most of whom are pushing 50, arrived in Bangalore on Friday and were followed around the city by groups of fans seeking a glimpse of them. It is enthralling to see metal covering the globe and the sincere avidity of the fans. That Maiden played in India for the first time is an awesome story.
Alongside that MEgadeth clip from Argentina, is it any wonder metal artists perfer playing in other countries?

I feel like Iron Maiden has too extensive of a catolog not to play for 2 1/2 hours much less almost 2 Hours. Heaven & Hell (with a kick-ass, but limited catalog) played for 2 hours with Megadeth opening up for them. Megath played for a little over an hour.

last Rock in Rio(Brazil) they played it was about 200k people , the first one in 85 it was 250k, one ordinary show alone in Sao Paulo, Brazil is about 50k people

Finally India got the Maiden they deserve. I can't even imagine never having the opportunity to see Maiden in concert. You can tell they were hungry for it. I'm very happy for all the Indian fans who finally got to see them after all these years, and for the band, I'm sure this is one of the (many) highlights of their career. This report gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling.

If they are currently playing places they have never toured before then why don't they include Australia? I've been lucky enough to see them the 3 times they toured here but it has been bloody 15 years since the last visit. There is a whole new generation of Aussie Maiden fans who probably won't get the chance to see them live in their country.

and trust me.....30, 000 tickets may have been sold...but the crowd looked bigger....
i fucking flew to bangalore on a 3 hour flight to catch them....and missed three dayz of work........and will gladly do it again ....

It was awesome ...I feel they might be understating the capacity to evade some taxes or something coz the crowd was huuuuge...I feel it couldve been much more than 30k. The gods were awesome and especially wrathchild, trooper, NOTB, 2 mins ,people went mad!!!yeah next up preist/megadeth....come on ppl, serve this metal starved nation some more heavy metal.....
