DOWN Back On Stage In Winnipeg; Band To Complete HEAVEN AND HELL Tour - Mar. 18, 2007
After canceling the last three shows due to a "strep throat," vocalist Philip Anselmo (SUPERJOINT RITUAL, ex-PANTERA) was back on stage earlier tonight (Sunday, March 18) with his DOWN bandmates — CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower (EYEHATEGOD, SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist), bassist Rex Brown (ex-PANTERA) and guitarist Kirk Windstein (CROWBAR) — at MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada as the support act for HEAVEN AND HELL and MEGADETH. The band is expected to play all the remaining shows on the tour, which include:

Mar. 20 - Sault St. Marie, ON @ Steelback Centre
Mar. 22 - Toronto, ON @ Air Canada Centre
Mar. 24 - London, ON @ John Labatt Centre
Mar. 26 - Montreal, PQ @ Bell Centre
Mar. 27 - Quebec City, PQ @ Colisee Pepsi Arena
Mar. 28 - Ottawa, ON @ Civic Centre

As previously reported, DOWN premiered a brand new song, entitled "I Scream", during their headlining appearance at the El Corazon club in Seattle, Washington on March 9. A video clip of the track has surfaced and can be viewed at YouTube.com.

Check out pictures from the Seattle show at this location.

DOWN entered a Los Angeles studio last month to begin recording its third full-length album, tentatively titled "Down III". Producer Warren Riker (CROWBAR, SUBLIME) is helming the effort, for which the band had reportedly composed more than 18 tracks.

Good. This better hold up on the 28th, since it'll be the 3rd show in three nights.

I'd be mad if I was going to one of these dates knowing Down was actually going to play. Boo to Down!

Great News, can't wait for the new Down album as well, except now my beer break won't be as long because Megadeths set will be shorter, I wish they would've put megadave on first on better yet, had motorhead instead which was the original idea for the tour.

COMMENT | The set list will not contain "I Scream" for the HEAVEN AND HELL shows.

And the set list used in Seattle will be the same one used for the headlining dates they have booked for following the Canadian dates.

Phil has such a reputation that they feel the need to put "strep throat" in quotation marks.

As if to imply it could just as easily be an OD...

COMMENT | Jeff, you are the only jack-off at the moment implying any drug reference.

The show was awesome, Megadeth was great, and I finally got to see Dio here in Winnipeg! Phil was definitely sick!

Fucking AWESOME show tonight. Fuck yeah to Phil and Down for making it out to this one. Megadave destroyed, and Sabbath was absolutely killer. Caught 2 Iommi picks, and Dio and I threw our horns together. Best show of the year so far.
