NIGHTWISH: New Singer's Identity Revealed?

Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanomat is reporting that NIGHTWISH has already chosen a replacement for singer Tarja Turunen, but the band is carefully guarding her identity. However, according to Ilta-Sanomat, the new vocalist is none other than former TRISTANIA frontwoman Vibeke Stene ( Photo#1, Photo#2). There are a number of signs pointing to the fact that Vibeke is Tarja's replacement in NIGHTWISH. For example, influential European music business person Frank Stroebele (manager for WITHIN TEMPTATION and ANASTACIA) recently asked an Ilta-Sanomat reporter, "Have you heard who the new singer of NIGHTWISH is? I understand that it is Vibeke." Vibeke quit TRISTANIA last month "due to personal reasons," making the timing of her departure perfect if she were to join NIGHTWISH. However, the only public information about the new vocalist that has come out of the NIGHTWISH camp so far has been offered by the group's manager, Ewo Pohjola (a.k.a. Ewo Rytkönen) of King Foo Entertainment. "She is getting along very well with the guys," he said. "She is very talented, clever and sweet."

I used to have such a crush on Vibeke about 10 years ago, so much so I emailed her and asked if I could meet her...

Simone Simons is the beauty and Tarja is the beast.
Vibeke is ok. Anyway, everyone knows she's the new singer of Nightwish. Tristania just released a new album and she got out of the band.

I think Nightwish will be even stronger than before. Having a frontman (or woman in this case) that actually WANTS to be in a rock band and is comfortable with that lifestyle will make a ton of difference.
Seeing Vibeke mysteriously step away from Tristania right after a new album was a dead give away for me as to what she was doing. Even if I'm wrong, I'm sure Tuomas will choose a capable vocalist that fits the band. It's not like he didn't have a billion chicks to choose from, one of 'em HAS to be good...

seriously not cool... Vibeke Stene's voice is way too good to be wasted on the likes of Nightwish. I don't know why she left Tristania but if it was to join Nightwish, I would guess that reason would be insanity.
oh, yeah, plus the fact that she's too gorgeous to be human certainly explains most of my interest in any of this.

Wise choice, but she goes against all the 'no classical training needed' disclaimers they gave. That gave a lot of applicants a great deal of false hope.
Tristania just weren't the same after Morten left.

just went 2 the TRISTANIA myspace website and watched vides. this women might have the looks a little . but for signing and replacing tarja she has a lot to prove to be worthy of being in nightwish. didnt like what i seen on their website really.

if she fits the new material. For those of you who actually wonder about the band's new music, Tuomas has been quoted as saying that if you hated "Once", you're REALLY going to hate the new album.
Personally, I thought "Once" was pure genius and their best work ever, so I can't wait!

Please, dont treat us like we're stupid. We know thats one of the reasons you hired her, if indeed she is the new vocalist. Not discounting her talents, just pointing some things out..

She's got a soft, pretty face, but her body is ugly. Tarja was similar except she had an annoying dog-like face, and generally was unhot.

Hmmm she is hot, I like Tristania, but she did playback some years ago!!!
There was this sh*ty "fog" set and she couldn't sing for some seconds but abra cadabra we were still listening her voice haha!!
