HATE ETERNAL Parts Ways With Bassist - Apr. 1, 2007
Acclaimed death metal act HATE ETERNAL has parted ways with bassist Randy Piro. "I am at a crossroads in my life and I feel the need to change direction," Randy writes in a statement. "I will be devoting my creativity to GIGAN and my schooling.

"From the deepest pits of my heart I thank Erik Rutan, Derek Roddy, Jared Anderson (may he rest in peace), and everyone in the HATE ETERNAL family for believing in my abilities, and bestowing upon me the honor of playing in one of the most extreme bands the world has ever heard.

"HATE ETERNAL has played a massive role in my life, and I will always look upon my time spent jamming with Erik and Derek with warm emotions. I wish Erik Rutan and the band the world and its spoils, for the Hate truly is Eternal..."

HATE ETERNAL leader Erik Rutan added: "Randy and I both thought this was the right life change for him and I support everything he wants to do for his future. Randy always gave 100% while in the band and I appreciate all he has done for me and HATE ETERNAL. I wish him nothing but the best in his schooling, career and his life."

Handling the bass duties on HATE ETERNAL's upcoming CD will reportedly be Alex Webster from CANNIBAL CORPSE (although this has not yet been officially confirmed).

HATE ETERNAL signed a new record deal with Metal Blade Records in January 2007. The band is currently writing material for the follow-up to 2005's "I, Monarch", which is expected to be recorded at Rutan's own Mana Recording Studios in June/July 2007.

Formed in 1997, HATE ETERNAL's goal has always been to challenge musical limitations and create new boundaries with no compromise; to obtain goals aimed at by many yet reached by only a select few; to create music that not only defies all clichés, but that creates a true sense of power, dissonance and consonance, heaviness and speed, melody and brutality, simply put horrific hymns. Rutan has crafted an impressive career by attaining that goal consistently for well over a decade with his legendary work in RIPPING CORPSE and MORBID ANGEL, not to mention his other career as engineer/ producer for bands such as CANNIBAL CORPSE, SOILENT GREEN, SIX FEET UNDER, CELLADOR, VITAL REMAINS, PREMONITIONS OF WAR, GOATWHORE and INTO THE MOAT, just to name a few.

Hate Eternal rules!!! I can't wait for their new album...

Eric Rutan is basically turning into the next Scott Burns...I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing...but I hope he continues to produce extreme metal bands as well other bands from differnt genre(s) from Florida & across the land!!!

Can anybody give an update on Morbid Angel...?

Are they releaseing a new album this year...?

What is the current Lineup ?

After seeing some recent photos of Trey Azagthoth...he basically looks like he's turning japanese!!!!

I think a new album by S.O.B. featuring Trey Azagthoth & Marty Friedman would be awesome at this point....just kidding lololol.

Burns has indeed produced some of the finest and most influential DM ever recorded. However, I've never been impressed with his engineering. Obituary's 'World Demise' sounded pretty good, but even the Cynic album sounded muddy to me. The music on that CD deserved a much better sound. I wish the whole album had been remixed when it was reissued a few years ago.

I thought Roddy left Hate Eternal.

Looking forward to some new material.

Some new Morbid Angel with David Vincent back on bass and vocals would be killer as well. However it doesn't seem like Trey is moving in a musical direction right now.

Out of curiosity, did anyone ever find out what Jared Anderson's cause of death was? I didn't ever see it posted here.

No cause of death has ever been posted (that I know of) but you have to figure it was something related to his heroin abuse.

Yeah... I have the same feeling too. I did get to meet him once at a Hate Eternal show. He was a nice guy, but EVERYONE knew about his drug problems. :(

If Webster is going to be the new bass player, then this is not such bad news at all. And really, didn't Roddy leave Hate Eternal?

@dogdaysunrise: the album is lot more varied, I think it's a fine Death Metal album! If you're into brutal Death Metal check it out. You won't be disappointed.

HATE ETERNAL!

From what I heard on their myspace page, this is pretty interesting stuff. Way more varied and creative than hate Eternal, although I still love Hate Eternal. I think Trey is writing the new Morbid Angel album now. I read somewhere that he is experimenting with new micing techniques (whatever that means). Whatever goes down, though, I hope they don't use the same producer they used last time. The mix on "Heretic" was horrible. They should use Rutan's studio.
