EDDIE VAN HALEN At Phoenix International Raceway; First Photos Released - Apr. 21, 2007
In what might be Eddie Van Halen's first public appearances since entering rehab, the guitarist is at Phoenix International Raceway in Arizona this weekend for NASCAR's Subway Fresh Fit 500 race. On Friday (April 20), he unveiled two guitars at the track — a custom-made Fender Stratocaster and a limited-edition EVH "Frankenstein" model, which is a duplicate of the guitar he played in VAN HALEN's early days. Check out pictures: Photo#1, Photo#2, Photo#3 (photo by Robert LeSieur), Photo#4.

Eddie will be back at the track today (Saturday, April 21) to act as an honorary race official, when he'll help greet the drivers as their introduced before the race begins. At the conclusion of the race, the winner will be presented with the custom Fender guitar.

Eddie previously said, "I am honored on behalf of EVH Brand guitars, amps, and musical products to be invited to such an exciting and fun event. I feel privileged to be working with such amazing organizations like Phoenix International Raceway, their NASCAR event, and Fender."

Phoenix International Raceway President Bryan R. Sperber said, "I'm personally delighted that Eddie Van Halen has accepted our invitation to join us as our Honorary Race Official for the Subway Fresh Fit 500. There is no one who has had the kind of impact on music that he and his band — VAN HALEN — have had. I know it will be a thrill for the drivers and fans to have Eddie at Phoenix International Raceway for the NASCAR weekend."

He would cut his hair. Is that part of the fucking "12 steps"?

At least he didn't dye it bright red. I've seen that happen to the newly sober before.

Time in rehab, some dental work - a fresh, new look to mark his progress.

Good for you Ed. Keep on it - don't fail yourself, your family and your fans...

Bring the Van Halen name back to it's former glory.

Just a tan and some caps and tinted hair, that's all. He's still the same underneath. It's just a publicity stunt for the guitar company to make some money on a promise from Eddie.

When he was at the NAMM's in January he was toast.

probably an and had a bottle of booze and some meth after the presentation.

To bad, could of continued off were Balance was left and got back Sammy and Mikey for some new material and a couple of CD's,

It releaved the pain, but once a meth user always a meth user!

plus FANS of Eddie and VH 3 days of rehab can cure even the common cold, he'll be back on the stuff right after he's done with
any public shows.
Come on he was suppose to kick the habit back in 1995 and cleaned up, but look what happen after that 1 year of rehab.

So don't count your chickens.

I love Eddie and VH, but saw him in concert in 2004 and what a waste of a tour he was horrible, and just think that will probably be the last time he'll play.

i agree with the one guy that posted here, don;t kow who he is but i have to agree with his opinion, Eddie can show up for a nascar race but can't make it for his rock in roll hall of fame induction, what a bunch of crap! eddie probably went to the same re-hab place that britney spears an lindsay lohan went to, oh hey look at me, three days and i'm sober, yeah right. if they don't do a tour with dave or release new material soon i won't support van halen anymore eddie was drunk on the 2004 tour and his playing sucked, he looked half out of it the whole show.
