Long-running U.K. rockers
THE WILDHEARTS will be
IRON MAIDEN frontman
Bruce Dickinson's guests on Saturday, May 19 during
Bruce's weekly
BBC 6 Music radio show, aptly named
"Rock Show". Listen to the program live via the Internet between 9:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. (midnight) U.K. time (between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. EST) at
BBC.co.uk.
THE WILDHEARTS are set to release their new, self-titled album today (April 23) via
Round Records. The CD was preceeded by a download-only single,
"The Sweetest Song", which is available from
iTunes.
"The Wildhearts" was recorded partly at London's
Strongroom Studios, partly at a country house in Ipswich, and at a haunted castle in the Midlands.
Commented mainman
Ginger: "We are really proud of this album. It marks what honestly feels like a fresh start in what has been an up-and-down career for the band. Gone are the drugs and alcohol problems. There is a focus and determined spirit in the band now, which we think we have captured perfectly on this album. The melodies are still there, the big choruses are still there, but the mammoth guitar riffs are back and heavier than ever. We're excited to have you along for this fresh new stage in the ongoing legacy that is
THE WILDHEARTS."
