MINISTRY Mainman To Complete New Album In June - Apr. 27, 2007
MINISTRY mainman Al Jourgensen has issued the following update:

"Half way done [with the new MINISTRY album, 'The Last Sucker']! Burton Bell [FEAR FACTORY] comes back to Hell Paso may 1st to finish up his vox on two trax he's on – 'End of Days Part I' and 'End of Days Part II'.

"Just got done with the title track — mixed and out the door ('The Last Sucker'). Bixby, my engineer, thinks it sounds like a biker anthem, except he's never ridden a motorcycle in his life.

"Angie [Al's wife] told me y'all seem to like 'Rio Grande Dub' and that's cool coz I think Clayton and JB did some kickass remixes on these songs. Can't wait for you to hear the rest of them. 'Great Satan' and 'Palestina' are my two favorite remixes.

"I should be done with the record by first week in June. Tommy Victor will come to 13th Planet Studios to mix the new PRONG album, so maybe it will be time for me, Tommy, Sin and Raven to set up one of those live chats we know and love so much....

"Meanwhile back to work for me."

The song "Rio Grande Blood (Rio Grande Dubya Mix)", taken from MINISTRY's upcoming album of remixes, "Rio Grande Dub", has been made available for streaming at this location.

13th Planet Records will release MINISTRY's "Rio Grande Dub" in June. The album will feature remixes by Clayton Worbeck (REVOLTING COCKS, STAYTE) and John Bechdel (FEAR FACTORY, PRONG, MINISTRY, FALSE ICONS). Artwork for the CD was created by Lawton Outlaw.

"Rio Grande Dub" track listing:

01. Rio Grande Blood (Rio Grande Dubya Mix) (4:12)
02. Señor Peligro (La Zona Peligrosa Mix) (4:08)
03. Gangreen (Kiss Me Goodnight Mix) (3:35)
04. Fear Is Big Business (Weapons of Mass Deception Mix) (3:42)
05. Lieslieslies (Cognitive Dissonance Mix) (4:19)
06. The Great Satan (What Would Satan Do? Mix) (3:06)
07. Yellow Cake (Hexafluoride Mix) (4:22)
08. Palestin (72nd Virgin Mix) (5:23)
09. Ass Clown (Osama McDonald Mix) (3:31)
10. Khyber Pass (TX Bush Ranch Mix) (4:27)
11. Lieslieslies (Known Unknown Lies Mix) (3:55)

Tentatively due in September, "The Last Sucker" will be MINISTRY's final album, and like its two predecessors — 2004's "Houses of the Mole" and last year's "Rio Grande Blood" — it will be politically minded blast at the administration of President George W. Bush.

"It's a trilogy," Jourgensen told Billboard.com in May 2006. "The next one's going to be called 'The Last Sucker', and it's also about this corrupt administration. That seems to be my muse; everyone seems to think I write real shitty music when a Democrat's in office. So we'll do that one, and then me and George Bush go riding off hand-in-hand, into the sunset."

Regarding his decision to put MINISTRY to rest, Jourgensen said, "I've got other things to do. I just started a label (13th Planet Records), and I want to sign some bands and really build it up like I did with WaxTrax in the '80s, not just a vanity label. I think it's time — and I'll be leaving on the top of my game instead of hanging on too long and doing crappy AEROSMITH and ROLLING STONES albums 30 years later."

MINISTRY was nominated for a Grammy in the "Best Metal Performance" category for the song "Lies Lies Lies" off "Rio Grande Blood".

This was the fourth Grammy nomination for Jourgensen and MINISTRY, who were also nominated in 1993, 2000 and 2005 (for "The Great Satan").

He's obviously running low on lyrical ideas. When having writers block, just cry about how much you hate Bush. The topic's more over done than hair bands writing about girls and cars. Cast your vote and quit boo-hooing.

Oh yeah, eeeeeevery musician is bashing Bush. Funny, I can think of two or three who have actively written protest songs regarding our current criminal administartion. So quit YOUR boo-hooing. Take solace in knowing you're one of about a third of the country that still supports our war criminal President.

For my part, I'll continue listening to this fantastic and influential act's music until the curtain falls. Ministry are going out with a big bang, on top of their game to the very end.
