METALLICA's HETFIELD Attends DALAI LAMA's Public Talk In San Francisco

According to the Contra Costa Times, METALLICA's James Hetfield was seen conversing by the curb Sunday (April 29) before a public talk by Tibetan leader-in-exile the Dalai Lama at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.
About 10,000 tickets for the San Francisco weekend, two days of teachings followed by Sunday's public talk, were almost gone in a few days.
METALLICA is currently recording its new album at a Los Angeles studio with producer Rick Rubin. The group's drummer, Lars Ulrich, told a New York radio program on March 2 that the band is laying down 14 songs for its ninth studio CD, which the group officially began recording on March 12.
The group plans to work in the studio until early June, take a break for its European tour, then finish recording in August. As for whether METALLICA will release the new album in 2007, Ulrich said, "I'd like to try and get it out this year, I hope we can get it out this year. If it doesn't come out this year, then it will be out at the very beginning of next year."

I saw the Dalai Lama speak a few years ago. He seems like a real nice guy and he makes a lot of sense too. Its not really religious stuff either its just stuff that people from all religions can appreciate. Anyhoo after leaving I saw things set up that said Free Tibet Shirts. I thought I could get a FREE Tibet shirt but it turns out they were "Free Tibet" shirts... Thats how they getcha.

Members of the band Metallica have been abducted by aliens!
After the 'black album's astounding sales, heavy metal hating aliens decided to put an end to it all. Indeed, James, Kirk, and Jason were abducted and replaced by clones programmed to make bad music as per the instructions of the band's drummer, Lars Ulrich.
The jason clone is said to have been abducted by friends, members of the band Voivod, who reprogramed him to act somewhat more like the real Jason. Unfortunatley, the jason clone experienced a meltdown and joined forces with the reality TV spawned 'Rockstar' fiasco.
Rumors abound that an accident involving a large bass amp head falling upon the jason clone was not an accident, but a planned attack by rabid fans of such real-Metallica-era albums as 'Kill 'em all', 'Ride The Lightening,' and 'Master Of Puppets'.
The Jason clone is currently being confined to a secret location where it is undergoing an overhaul and further reprogramming by it's alien creators.
Lars Ulrich, Metallica's drummer, was not abducted, and remains the only original member of the band. After the Jason clone was abducted by members of Voivod, Lars is said to have sent a message to the heavy metal hating aliens who summarily abducted and reprogrammed Rob Trujilo to stand (hunch over) as the new bass player in Metallica.
And shit has been getting worse and worse ever since.
Righteous efforts are currently underway to locate the real James, Kirk, and Jason by fans who long for the days of great Metallica records. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.

Thats the first hint that they still don't get it. If they have the songs down like they said in all the interviews out there than it should take no more than 3-4 weeks to record an album. According to Hetfield, Rubin had them practicing the songs like mad, so that when they hit the studio it would be wham bam. Sounds more like Whaa-Whaa.
