THE PANIC CHANNEL Goes 'On Hiatus' - May 6, 2007
THE PANIC CHANNEL/ex-JANE'S ADDICTION guitarist Dave Navarro has issued the following update:

"I have been asked a lot about the music lately, so here is the latest. Steve Isaacs [THE PANIC CHANNEL frontman] has decided to move to New York and begin a new chapter of his life. We wish him the best of luck and will miss his presence in [Los Angeles], but we will never have to miss his friendship. Go kick ass NYC style, Spooky!

"So what does that mean for THE PANIC CHANNEL? Well, I'm not really sure because we didn't 'break up.' However, the distance certainly doesn't make it very easy for us to do anything right now. I guess we will just call it a hiatus.

"As a result of Steve's departure, Siggy [Sjursen, bass] and I have discussed doing something else with Perk [Stephen Perkins, drums] and I am also interested in doing another record on my own, but in a totally different direction than 'Trust No One' [2001]. I'm just thinking about it now, as I don't have a clear cut idea of what it should be. Either way, the beginning stages of these potential ideas are a few weeks away because I have been focussed on getting this Internet show together... Something I have been wanting to do for a long time.

"I will always be playing in one way or another. I do love taking on new projects and trying out different ideas, but without music, I would be uninspired to attempt any of them.

"For those of you who have asked about 'Rock Star' [the reality TV show which Navarro co-hosted], I honestly have no information on that. It may come back, it may not. That isn't my call, so I can't answer to that question."

THE PANIC CHANNEL's debut album, "(ONe)", sold more than 8,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release last August to land at position No. 108 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was produced by Josh Abraham, whose resume includes such multi-platinum artists as KORN, COURTNEY LOVE, LIMP BIZKIT and VELVET REVOLVER, among others. Mixing duties were handled by Ryan Williams, who has previously worked with veteran producer Brendan O'Brien.

Let's call a spade a spade, Dave - you guys just broke up. Don't sugarcoat it.

Having said that, I loved their album. It's a shame the record label screwed them over; it had so much potential but just didn't get any sort of promotion. They cancelled a show in Atlanta back in January and they claimed it was because someone double-booked them... the truth is that they only sold 40 tickets to the show. I only know this because I know someone who works that venue's box office.

Pick up your telephone and call Dilanna IMMEDIATELY!!!

This is the hand of God helping you.

Steve is nothing more than average at best. You of all people know that you need someone who is compelling to front your band. The guys in Supernova obviously forgot it as their CD is selling only a little better than Taylor Hicks.

Dilanna is a talented freakshow and would do wonders for TPC.

It was way over polished and just didn't rock. It had no punch, no hooks, no nothing. So much promise and so much talent, but the finished product was weak.
