ROBERT PLANT To Perform At Romania's LIVE EARTH Concert

According to Mediafax.ro, former LED ZEPPELIN frontman Robert Plant will perform at Romexpo in Bucharest, Romania on July 8 as part of the Live Earth series of concerts which will be staged at various locations around the world starting on July 7.
Live Earth represents a series of concerts created at the initiative of Al Gore. These concerts will be held simultaneously, and they will include artists such as RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS, FOO FIGHTERS, SNOOP DOGG, BON JOVI, SHERYL CROW, JOHN MAYER, SNOW PATROL, BLOC PARTY and BLACK EYED PEAS, who will perform in Shanghai (China), Sydney (Australia), Johannesburg (South Africa), London (Great Britain) but also Rio (Brasil), Tokyo (Japan) and the United States of America. The initiative is aimed at triggering a global movement for the fight against the climate crisis.

True they borrowed some bits from blues artists that inspired them Willie Dixon for example in the early days of the band. But their original material stands head and shoulders above pretty much everone just listen to Zeppelin III or Physical Graffiti two masterpieces they wrote all of by themselves, and tell me that isn't the best original material put to wax and plastic.

Dissing Zep is just stupid...especially on a hard rock/metal site.
I'd agree that Zep is less metal than sab...and hey, I'm sick of uncritical praise of anything from the 60's-70's. But then there's this

An interesting comment from a guy named SABBATHAREGODS. I would like to know about all of these new musicians have "surpassed" zep. Please enlighten me.
Also, to Ministry of Anarchy. Yes, Zep did their first tour as the New Yardbirds. Page wasn't a founding member, but his interest and input in their material was increasing while all the other Yardbirds wanted out. By the time the band crashed (leaving Page in the lurch, with a handful of live dates to fufill--The reason that Zep was billed as the New Yardbirds on their first small tour) they were playing a bunch of Page material. How Many More Times, Dazed and Confused and White Summer/Black Mountainside were a regular part of the late Yardbirds set, and they played extended instrumental bits which sounded like--and were--an embryonic Zeppelin.
And the Yardbirds were one of the true metal pioneers. Go listen to "Stroll On" (w/Beck and Page on guitar) if you don't believe me.

That people are falling for this "Live Earth" shite, its all being organised by big business (the Save Ourselves thinktank) to introduce "carbon offsetting", which basically means giive the rich money to go about our lives as normal, whilst people in the third world are being forced not to develop their countries, its the biggest scam in world history. They want to control our actions through the scare tactics of the environmentalist movement, control our movements and tax us for everything. Al Gore uses 20 times the energy of the average American yet preaches about "our " terrible way and may I remind you his wife is Tipper Gore, the bitch who tried to ban metal in the 80's. Carbon offsetting is a myth, the environmentalist movement has been hijacked for profits and they are hell bent on worsening the conditions of the poorest nations on earth! Boycott or protest this hypocrisy fest! Al Gore is an evil bastard!
