VELVET REVOLVER: New Single Available For Download; Band Cancels European Dates - May 17, 2007
VELVET REVOLVER's new single, "She Builds Quick Machines", is available for download in its entirety at FMQB [Link has been removed]. The song comes off VELVET REVOLVER's second RCA album, "Libertad" (artwork), due on July 3. More audio samples from the CD are available at this location.

In other news, all of VELVET REVOLVER's previously announced tour dates in Europe after June 17 have been cancelled because of scheduling conflicts with promotional activities for the release of "Libertad". It is expected that the band will come back to Europe later this year to make good on these cancelled shows.

VELVET REVOLVER bassist Duff McKagan recently told Billboard.com fans can expect songs from its members' old bands (GUNS N' ROSES, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS) to crop up occasionally, but less frequently than in VELVET REVOLVER's early days, when it barely had enough originals to play a headlining set.

"I don't know whether we'll do it the whole tour or once in awhile," he told Billboard.com. "But I know people like to hear them and sometimes we really like to play them. It's songs we wrote, so why not?"

I've said it before on hear, "This album is very weak". If they were a garage band I'd say ok. But when considering who is behind this music it is a total disappointment. No wonder why Rubin walked away from this. VR brought these songs into the studio and Rubin I'm sure said WTF is this??? Go back and try again. They didn't want too and he left and now look at this poor album.

I really think this is the last of V.R.. First album was promising and this one is just a total let down. With all the rumors flying around about the band I think this it.

I won't be surprise if at the end of 2008 you see GNR back together. Except for Adler since he is junky.

I really don't think we'll ever see GNR back together. Wishful thinking, but very unlikely. I'd say Faith No More would get back together before them. (which is also excessively unlikely)

Hell, I'd even go so far as to say the original members of Nirvana would get back together before GNR. That would involve either the resurrection of Kurt Cobain, or the death of the two remaining members. Then they could play concerts in the spirit world. That is way more likely than GNR getting back together and recording.

Not that bad, not that great either. Not a fan of VR or GNR, but there's far worse music than this out there right now. Namely, rap, country, and pop.

Name a band who plays better rock and roll than this band

Turbonegro
The Hellacopters
The 69 Eyes
Buckcherry
Lordi

All of them play this type of rock and they're all light years ahead of VR.

dig the new song it has more of a "band" feel than the last one... I can tell they worked close with Scott on a lot of things. His vocals sit better with the music. Good rocking tune!
