MOTÖRHEAD: LEMMY Action Figure Due In November
- May 22, 2007
|
|
An action figure of MOTÖRHEAD's Lemmy Kilmister is tentatively due in November via a company called Locoape. The six-inch figure comes with what appears to be one of four random backgrounds and one of three random guitars. Check out a picture of the action figure at Action-Figure.com. A nine-minute audio interview with Lemmy Kilmister, conducted on May 13, 2007 at Peabody's in Cleveland, Ohio by Ken of Metal Fanzine, has been posted online at YouTube. Lemmy recently completed a short U.S. tour with his side project HEAD CAT, also featuring STRAY CATS drummer Slim Jim Phantom, and guitarist Danny B. Harvey (who also plays in Slim's post– STRAY CATS outfit 13 CATS). MOTÖRHEAD's latest album, "Kiss of Death", entered the national album charts in the following countries: Germany: #4, Norway: #9, Sweden: #13, Austria: #20, Switzerland: #26, U.K.: #45, Denmark: #53. The CD was recorded at the Paramount studios in Los Angeles with Cameron Webb, who also worked with the group on 2004's "Inferno". The album includes guest appearances by POISON guitarist C.C. Deville and ALICE IN CHAINS bassist Mike Inez. (Thanks: Anubis8)

When I saw the headline, I thought will it be a figure of old or young Lemmy, then it came to my mind, Lemmy never was young, but this figure is. weird.

they don't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Motorhead. Motorhead isn't NWOBHM they came out in 1975 which is too early for NWOBHM, also Motorhead isn't metal they are Rock N Roll as Lemmy says so himself.

actually your wrong bro. Motorhead came out in 75. so what? Saxon came out in 77 as did Tons of bands. so a 2 year difference is kinda grasping at straws isnt it?? Speaking of Saxon, i believe they were Lemmy and the boys openers for the whole Bomber tour, as were bands like Tank and Girlschool. so despite what Lem wants to call it, or what you think they are, History showed that all these bands toured together at the time and collectively made up the movement. and sure, alot of bands were 2nd tier bands that never got the exposure Motorhead did, but when did that matter in metal? Savage and those bands released killer albums abeit 1 album careers. According to your Logic, i guess Def Leppard kills Motorhead cause they had tons more success. NOT!!!!
YOU HAVE BEEN SCHOOLED, HAVE A GOOD DAY

yes, ive read and heard Lem say that a few times but really its not his place to say how the band is classified. Lem said something to the effect of He being in bands playing Rock n Roll years before there was a "Metal". And that Rockn Roll was sacred to him so it should be to everyone else. I respect the mans passion for his music. its alot like mine. Im passionate about metal, been a metalhead what seems like my whole life, and Motorhead was a part of my experience, so to me i proudly call them Metal. but to each his own on this issue .
cheers to you beers

How the fuck have I been schooled? Motorhead is better than those second or possibly 3rd rate NWOBHM bands because they write better songs. Metal or not theirs only one genre motorhead fall into thats, Motorheadmusic.

Shouldn't this figure come with a bottle of whiskey and a diorama of a booth at the Troubador? BTW, I agree that this thing is lame. The guitar is huge and if you can't even get his trademark mic positioning right you're just not paying attention.

But the first thing that I noticed was that the mic was too low. I guess thats not even worth posting but accuracy is important...at least it should be.

Eh, they already made a GI Joe of Lemmy back in the 80's, didn't they? One of the Dreadnoks looked just like him. But he had a blowtorch instead of his bass.
