ANTHRAX Members To Jam With WHITFIELD CRANE In New York City

ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian and bassist Frank Bello will perform with Whitfield Crane (ANOTHER ANIMAL, ex-UGLY KID JOE, LIFE OF AGONY, MEDICATION) at Retox, the New York City club co-owned by Ian, on Thursday, June 14.
Retox (511 West 28th Street) was opened by Ian and club owner Mike Diamond, who started Snitch, Pangaea and Vela.
New York Post reported earlier in the year that Ian and Diamond are shopping a rock-themed pilot to the networks. No further information is currently available.
ANTHRAX announced its split with vocalist Joey Belladonna in January, less than two years after the group's classic lineup reunited for a "25th anniversary" tour. A replacement singer will be announced at the end of June, according to Ian. Rumored candidates include Crane, ARMORED SAINT/ex-ANTHRAX vocalist John Bush, "American Idol" runner-up Bo Bice and STONE SOUR/SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor, according to various Internet message boards.

I could see it being Whit more then anyone. Sure he has ANOTHER ANIMAL, but that is a side thing with the very busy members of Godsmack. This would give him a more regular paycheck.

Like him or not, Billy, not you dip-shits, actually interacts with people involved in Anthrax, and he loves nothing better than up-staging Scott and Charlie. Billy may be a pompus ass who likes starting shit, but he's pretty reliable when exposing the behind the scenes Anthrax crap.

Whitfield Crane has a great voice for metal. He should be heavily considered. Though John Bush is who I'd like to see over all... he should have never been replaced in the first place. Corey Taylor would be a horrible fit for Anthrax. I'd be pretty ticked if he was the choice.

im thinking its either corey or bo bice.knowing how these guys are there looking for someone who will help them sell records.
corey would be the obvious choice but dont think his voice would fit there sound and his voice is already a shell of what it used to be due to being in 2 successful touring bands.if he indeed is the new anthrax singer it wont last long.his voice needs a rest not another band.
bo bice is prob the perfect fit when you look at it from a media and sales standpoint.he's a known fan of the band,and while he sells decently as a solo artist.i think he really yearns to be a frontman for a REAL band.

First of all, Scott Ian would not sell out to the likes of Bo Bice or that shiteater Corey Taylor from Slipknot.
My vote is on Whitfield Crane. Because Bush was fucking pissed when they got Joey back. And Joey left now Bush is doing his shit with Armored Saint.

He was ok during his little stint in LOA as a live vocalist but when they went to the recording studio it all fell apart.....I think the same thing could happen with anthrax.

Whether it's Crane, Bice, or Taylor I wish they would just rename the band and start over. They could play some Anthrax songs, but I think a fresh start is best.
One of my all-time favorite bands growing up, though.

a funny thought just occured to me..... Bo Bice moshing on stage and tring to belt out "NOT"........ I think Bo is best suited for Skynyrd type bands........

Even though with all of Scott Ian's bullshit and the dumbass reuninon with Joey I still considered Anthrax one of my favorite bands.
If the new lead singer is the fucker from Ugly Kid Joe or that Bo Bice fucker then I'm done with this band. And that's going to suck because there are Anthrax albums and songs that really mean a lot to me.

Go back and listen to the 1st Stonesour release. I think Corey Taylor could do a really good job with Anthrax. Whitfield would be a interesting choice. I just dont think he has the clout to front Anthrax. He will always be remembered for Ugly Kid Joe not LOA.
My choice would be Bush. However, if I were Bush, Id tell Anthrax to eat shit and die.

Why the Fuck would Corey Taylor join ANTHRAX??????
This guy is the frontman for two very succesful bands as it is, SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR.
He's not starving for a gig or some exposure or money. Joining ANTHRAX would be a step backward for Corey Taylor and doesn't make much sense. I could see why ANTHRAX would want Corey Taylor, But I can't see why Corey would waste his time joining this band.
I hope John Bush returns, But if it's Whitfield Crane I'd support that.
Bo Bice doesn't make any sense to me at all. He doesn't fit ANTHRAX. He's more of a Southern Rock type of singer. If they get Bo Bice it will be a huge joke and just totally pathetic. That will be the final nail in the ANTHRAX coffin.

Why don't you explain to everyone what you mean by Bush being "as two faced as scott or charlie" and back it up with substantiated proof, not something perceived or assumed. I've seen you make comments to this affect previously, and it always includes the false statement that Bush endorsed the reunion. I know for a fact he never made any public statement of the sort or even to the contrary. So prove your contention with a cited source in print or audio of John actually saying it, or continue to be the assclown you are that sits behind a computer keyboard and pretends the things you post are true, because no one knows who you are and you like that safety.

...worked things out with Joey. If they had released a new album with the classic lineup immediately following the reunion tour...then Anthrax may have enjoyed their best chart success in many a moon. IMO.
Anyone...Bush is a damn fine vocalist. But I'd rather see him stay with Armored Saint and release another album with that band.
As far as Whitfield goes...that's exactly who I thought of when I read the band was going to announce their new singer. It could work...but I don't see many getting excited about it.
Corey Taylor? I would be shocked by that. Milano's record on this stuff is spot on though. Still...why jam with Whitfield then?

I hope to God, Satan, Allah, Buddha, and any other deity that it's not him. I'm sure he has the pipes, but I just can't stomach the whole American Idol thing...
I wouldn't have a problem with Crane or Taylor. What I remember about Whit was that he was pretty good, and it may be good to get some fresh blood in there.
All the Slipknot haters can bash me, but I think Corey's a good singer. He may not be able to hit the high shit, but Bush couldn't either and he was pretty damn good too! Plus, Corey's been making ominous statements about his future in Slipknot, so he may have the time.
I would like to see Bush again, but I dunno if he's gonna get over his issues with the other guys. Would be cool though.
Whoever mentioned Eric AK, I think that would actually be a good idea! If he still has the range he had before, he could hit the notes Joey did. Plus, it would be cool for him to be known for something other than "the guy who sang for the band Newsted was in before Metallica."
