The CD sold 7,000 copies in the United States last week alone (week ending May 27), bringing the total number of copies sold since its release to 3.59 million, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"Why does a band need a setlist anyway. They should improvise and do shit on the fly like the mighty Clutch"

I hate to break it to you, but I saw Clutch last weekend they used a setlist which followed one I had seen on the internet. Along with the songs, the drum solo was in the same place as the list from the internet. There were only two changes from that list in the main show and one different encore. Moreover, almost every song was the arrangement from the recording -- i.e. they had "every last note planned out ahead of time." There was one short jam that involved some guitar improvising - the harmonica solos were probably mostly improvised.

Not a criticism, but just setting the record straight.

Guns N Roses. 1987-1991. Axl Roses insanity and ego destroyed the band. Money made him think he was god and a bad ass, truth be known, most sixth graders could kick his scrawny ass. Retire Axl, nobody cares anymore.

Isn't it obvious? People keep buying their music because other than the new Megadeth (and maybe a few others here and there), all the new bands pretty much suck. Hell this greatest hits cd will sell more than any of the new cd's from the cookie monster bands for sure. I remember the G&R/Metallica stadium tour in the 90's. I had 4th row seats for that baby but it was after Hetfield almost burned himself to death so he wasn't playing guitar and his arm was in a cast. Well enough rambling but there is nothing that comes close to that tour these days.

1) I would rather see Velvet Revolver(live),
*They only play like one Gn'R song "use to love her"
and one S.T.P. song,
and
maybe a cover "wish you were here" ...and the rest is original band music with an original band name n' members... Living and looking to the future not the past.

2) The Motley Crue set list is better than the Axl one:
(& Motley Crue is also, all 4 original members)
01. Dr. Feelgood
02. Shout at the Devil
03. Looks that Kill
04. Wild Side
05. Knock 'Em Dead Kid
06. Live Wire
07. Home Sweet Home
08. Same Ol' Situation
09. Louder than Hell
10. Girls Girls Girls
11. Sick Love Song
12. Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)
13. Primal Scream
14. Kickstart My Heart
Encore:
15. Anarchy in the U.K.

3) "Sick Love Song" by the Crue is just as good as any nu-Axl song!.

HAVING SAID ALL THAT^

AXL IS STILL GODDER THAN GOD... NOBODY CAN TOUCH HIM.
AXL IS LIKE GEORGE BUSH THO... JUST PISSED WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE OFF

If you truly do not care, why do you still take the time to read the articles and take even more time to type out what you think?

It seems to me that someone that truly didn't care would not even take the time to read the article, let alone take the time to sit here and type out a comment.

Another thing, What does Axl owe anybody? If he bothers you so much, why don't you take the time to write about how Axl not putting out an album has personally impacted your life. This would actually be interesting to read instead of the same crap you guys write over and over again. I bet you go to Britney Spears websites and complain about her too. You are a bunch of F'in Sissies. Post something worth taking the time to write and worth us taking our time to read.

I think guns and roses is a good band from the old days and even for the new days.....I still love to listen to them ....they made some great music for people to listen too. I think this is going to be a cool tour for GnR.

I was at the show last night here in Monterrey. Concert was announced to start at 9pm, but from past experiences in Houston I knew they could start late.. and they did.. 3 hours and 40 minutes late! Show started at 0:40am.. ended at 2:39am.

I read almost all the comments posted here, and even though I understand why some of you think that this is just a cover band, and people are wasting their money for going to see them, I would have to disagree with them, because my experience last night was great. I enjoyed hearing the old songs played live. Axl still has a lot of voice left in him. For all of you who are just critizicing, let me tell you, you have no idea of what you´re saying. The place was packed and the energy from the band, got people singing all the past hits at their top of their lungs.. even though the show started soooo damn late. Still, once the Welcome to the Jungle riff started echoing in the Arena, people connected immediately with the band.

The new band members are really good.. their solos were each super well executed, and I can honestly say that as far as talent and performance, they had it all. I guess I was a little more interested in the Dizzy Reed piano solo just because he´s one of the old members, but Robin´s and Bumblefoot´s were pretty intense. If you haven´t seen them play or heard them play live, don´t let negative comments influence you. And if you have seen them, and still don´t like them that´s fine.. but I´d give them a B+

I went to the show to hear their old songs. Although I have heard some of the new one that have leaked into the Internet, I can honestly say they haven´t grown on me yet. So to me, their song selection was right on; people who payed for a ticket, got their money´s worth and got to listen to the songs we all loved so much 15 - 18 years ago.

Of course we all miss Slash, Duff and Izzy.. don´t get me wrong. No one will ever be able to come up with the music these guys did.. no one will compare to the old band. But the show the new GN´R is doing these days is really good and the energy and raw power in Axl´s voice can still make thousands of souls re-live some intense feelings.

Salud!!

the only "feel" in that clip was the crowd.
sure the band can play the covers note for note, but there is no soul whatsoever while they do it.
might as well just get everybody together & jam to a huge boom box, or better yet, karaoke.
