UNEARTH frontman Trevor Phipps has issued the following update:
"We are headed back on the road for a slew of European festivals starting June 9th at Festimad in Spain and ending at With Full Force in Germany on July 1st. Taking on drumming duties during these dates will be our friend Derek Kerswill of the band SEEMLESS. Derek has learned a full set and will be the man behind the kit for UNEARTH for the next month and a half. Kerswill will also be hitting the skins during our U.S. dates July 11 through 14 with SHAI HULUD and THE DESTRO. After that, the great Gene Hoglan will be back in the saddle to help us out on our New Zealand, Australian and Alaskan headlining tour during July and August. Gene was nothing short of amazing when he finished out our most recent tour with DIMMU BORGIR, DEVILDRIVER and KATAKLYSM.
"All of us in UNEARTH are grateful and feel blessed that both Gene and Derek are willing to move around their own busy schedules and professional lives to help us out on the road. They are both great people and killer musicians. Nothing is lost with our energy or show with either of these guys behind the kit. We wouldn't take the stage unless we stood 100% behind our show and these two guys have been simply stellar.
"When the dust settles after our busy summer of touring, we will then have a solid idea and an announcement on what we plan on doing with our vacant drummer position. Just know for now that we have two top-notch drummers hitting the stage with us and we couldn't be happier with where we stand right now. Stay tuned for more info."
UNEARTH's latest album, "III: In the Eyes of Fire", was released last August via Metal Blade Records. The CD was recorded at a Seattle studio with producer Terry Date (PANTERA, DEFTONES). A limited-edition version of "III: In the Eyes of Fire" includes a bonus DVD containing the "making of" footage for the album and a live video filmed on the Sounds of The Underground tour.

one of the very few entertaining metalcore bands out there. Look past the label (and numerous breakdowns) and you will find some good music hidden underneath. They also put on an extremely good live show.
