RATT: CD And DVD Reissues Due In July - June 11, 2007
Legendary '80s hard rockers RATT return to stores with new DVD and CD releases on July 31: the first-ever DVD release from the band, "Ratt: Videos From The Cellar: The Atlantic Years", and the audio collection "Tell The World: The Very Best Of Ratt", which features the hard rockers at their studio and live performance peak and includes an unreleased track.

Both of RATT's previously released video collections will be combined and expanded for the DVD release "Ratt: Videos From The Cellar: The Atlantic Years". Featuring singer Stephen Pearcy, guitarists Robbin Crosby and Warren DeMartini, bassist Juan Croucier and drummer Bobby Blotzer, RATT released four consecutive platinum records in the mid-'80s. In addition to compiling some of RATT's most popular videos — "Round And Round", "Lovin' You's A Dirty Job" and "Lay It Down" — the DVD also contains several bonus features, including highlights from the band's triumphant tour of Japan, exclusive new commentary and never before released videos.

The CD "Tell The World: The Very Best Of Ratt" features standout songs from all seven of the group's albums, including such classics as "Wanted Man", "Back For More", and "Round And Round" from the band's triple platinum-selling Atlantic debut "Out Of The Cellar". "Tell The World: The Very Best Of Ratt" will also include an unreleased song from the "Reach For The Sky" sessions in addition to tracks from the Sony Portrait release "Ratt" and the independently released "Collage".

Both "Ratt: Videos From The Cellar: The Atlantic Years" and "Tell The World: The Very Best Of Ratt" were produced in cooperation with RATT and will be available at all retail outlets and at www.rhino.com for suggested list prices of $19.99 for the DVD and $18.98 for the CD, respectively.

Who gave a fuck about Ratt the first time around? It's sad when you were second rate to Poison and Motley Crue.

Blatant money grab. I know some guys in the Ratt "camp" and they told me that the band is really pissed off because they all thought that if they reunited with mostly original members they could do a headlining tour of large clubs and small theaters but they couldn't get anyone to sign off on it. Nobody thinks that they have that much relevance these days and I agree. The fact that they have to go on a tour supporting Poison'd and their cover songs was just another kick in the nuts. But they need the cash so they agreed.

Pearcy's voice is completely shot, they don't get along, and this tour has trainwreck written all over it. Juan Croucier was always the most all-around talented one in the band and the way they have treated him is totally lame and I will never support anything they do. Fuck Ratt.

...as a fan of the band's glory days, I welcome the new best of cd for a couple of reasons:

1.) This one sports a much better track listing (except for the insipid "Heads I Win, Tales You Lose"...that's three comps this song has polluted...simply because it features a guest vocal from Jon Bon Jovi. It wasn't even a single. The actual third single from DETONATOR, "Givin' Yourself Away", charted on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks, peaking at No. 39. That should have been included instead...or better yet, include another track from one of the earlier albums)

I would have liked to seen "What You Give Is What You Get" included too. But the inclusion of "Dangerous But Worth The Risk" makes up for it...really surprised to see it kick off the cd too.

2.) The remastered sound quality. "Ratt n' Roll 81-91" is 16 years old...and the other RATT best of, "Essentials" only sports 12 tracks.

Cool to see "Steel River" included...

something to the effect, I know a lot of bands that can't stand eachother, that eventually run out of money so they do a reunion tour. Given the bad blood between these guys, this tour has the stink of we hate eachother but we're all broke written all over it. These guys won't do anything together after this tour obligation is done. That being said, I would check it out, should be fun to see. Check out some of the old concert footage of Ratt on Youtube. They were a big concert draw back in the day.

How about just remastering/reissuing their individual albums instead?

For those that missed out on the original band back in the day ... wow did you miss out. Ratt was easily one of the top live acts of the 80's. Sad to see them now, though.

All these clone bands grunting like cavemen while bass drums are reduced from being low and powerful sounding to sounding like two fuckin CHICKLETS being tapped together.

Ratt is from a time when we still had "rockstars" and that time is dead.

^yes, I thought this was about all re-mast. CDs re-issues, I would buy them all. With talk about people downloading albums online, this would only make sense, before they decide to just do it online, which isn't what I'd like to do or be interested in.

In an age when we can burn/put together our own compilation, w/list of songs I choose, why should we buy these from any band out there? This only worked when CD first appeared & technology was new...cont'd next post...

COMMENT | Hey RATT, can you re-master all album CDs as Limited Edition?

Lame Lame Lame - it coulda been better...

DVD: There's at elast 4 pro shot songs f. Out Of Cellar tour, on youtube, & almost a full show f. the EP. Yet they still release NO unreleased live footage..

CD: Song list is nothing any fan of the band doesn't have. If it'd have been a double atleast it could've covered the ground they deserved. Ignored the first EP is stupid, no ""You Think You're Tough", "Tell The World" (the TITLE of the CD), "Sweet Cheater", almoast any real fan could make a compilation that would blow this away.

...When I commented earlier, I thought that song was included (re-reading, its just on the DVD).
That's a MAJOR omission.
The debut e.p. has a higher reputation than any Ratt release post-Invasion.
Stupid not to include its most famous track.

Still...I'm buying this.
Hopefully Rhino will announce a remastering of the band's entire Atlantic catalog soon.
Those albums deserve as much.
E.P. included.

Would love for them to remaster / reissue the original EP. Stacked up head-to-head against "Out of the Cellar" it comes out sounding much more raw, and has a lot of energy. "Dancing Undercover" and "Reach For the Sky" have some good tunes, but aren't kick ass from start to finish like the EP.

If you know people in the "Ratt camp", then you'll know that Juan fucked himself out of the reunion. He dicked everyone around for months, then whined like a 2year old when he couldn't get his way.

Now, the band will tour and make good cash this summer while he sits at home and pouts like a little girl.

It's funny, people who don't like Ratt are the real posers, because they deny the fact that they just made awesome music and opened the door for a lot of metal bands, glam or otherwise.

They were definately not a second rate Poison, they were playing when C.C. was still just a stain on his Mumma's leg.
Much better than over-rated Motley Crue as well..Ratt were top notch musos and if you deny Warren and Robin's guitar playing you definately need a headcheck on your love of Metal guitar.

They were also a step ahead of all the other bands in term of sexual references e.t.c, Ratt did it with a relative level of class...like it or not Out of the Cellar is one of the great Metal albums of the 80s, even if just so for its sales and the boost it gave Metal.

Poison should also NOT be put in the same sentence as Motley Crue!!!! They were really posers!
