With the new album's second single, "Spindrift", now impacting radio, RUSH will release a special limited edition vinyl version of "Snakes & Arrows" on June 19. There will be only 5,000 copies of this 2-LP set available, each pressed on 180-gram HQ audiophile vinyl at RTI for the best possible sound. RUSH has also announced that on June 26, "Snakes & Arrows" will be released as one of the first albums in the new MVI format. MVI (Music Video Interactive) is a DVD-based product that plays in all DVD players, computers, and video game consoles with DVD drives. The RUSH release will include the entire "Snakes & Arrows" album in 96kHz/24 bit hi-resolution stereo, the entire album in 5.1 surround sound, and a 45-minute in-studio documentary on the making of the album — titled "Rush: The Game of Snakes and Arrows." The RUSH MVI will also offer the ability for fans to create their own mobile ringtones of all the tracks on the MVI using UrTone technology, as well as digital extras like wallpapers, buddy icons, and more. When fans register their MVI, they will unlock even more RUSH content including an exclusive poster from the band. Deluxe packaging will complete the release. The audio tracks on the MVI are pre-encoded for easy transfer to your computer, portable music player, or recordable CD. To learn more about the MVI format, please visit www.mvimusic.com. The #3 premiere of "Snakes & Arrows" — the renowned rock trio's first new collection of original material in nearly five years — marked RUSH's highest chart debut since 1993, as well as the group's eleventh top ten album in the U.S. The band's extraordinary body of work — which includes such acclaimed works as 1976's "2112", 1981's "Moving Pictures", 1996's "Test for Echo", and 2002's "Vapor Trails" — has achieved worldwide sales exceeding 35 million units. This is pretty fantastic.
One question, though: Nothing off A Farewell to Kings, Power Windows, or Counterparts, but SUMMERTIME BLUES gets to return? That's slightly wack.

Nice to see a pretty good mix here and a lloooonng set at that. This is what is known as your money's worth. They don't play 2112 like they used to so what make it mandatory? Look at pathetic Aerosmith and their Dream On shit.

I have front-stage tickets in Mountain View CA. on Aug. 1st. I heard this tour would showcase the new album, and I was doing this would severely impact their classic catalog. I shouldn't have been worried - it's great to see Natural Science and YYZ on the list. That said, I would have loved to see La Villa Strantiago, Beneath, Between, Behind, and Fly By Night on the list as well...

Rush has been around so bloody long that they could play any combination of songs and there will be those who are going to want other songs. I'm just happy their still touring and I've been waiting 27 years to hear Circumstances live. Sure, there are a ton of songs I want to hear but what are you going to do about it. They should play 3 sets with 2 intermissions and make it a 3 hour show with each set an hour. But at this point in time I'm just glad that I'll be sitting dead center at the Hollywood hearing,
wait for it,
wait for it,

4 hour drive there... 4 hour drive back... well worth it! yes, I've seen better shows by them, but the set list was better than the R30 show I saw which was primarily "greatest hits" where this show had more album tracks and fan favorites (non radio choices)

monday in charlotte, nc will be #14 for me seeing these guys and it seems to just get better and better as we get older - and the setlist is unbelievable......Rush always pleases the true fans and mixes the songs up every tour - yea some songs get played more than others but like one poster said I too am just glad they are still around making music and touring - I dropped about $200.00 for 2 tix for me and my wife but I know damn well it will be money well spent - I was hoping though they would FINALLY play the camera eye or jacob's ladder - oh well...maybe NEXT TOUR !!!!!

Where...the...FUCK...is 2112!!!!!! BUT Passage to Bangkok and Circumstances...awesome!
But I still feel sort of let down, actually yeah, I fucking love Rush and I've gotten in serious fights with other people defending them, but this setlist kind of makes me hate the new album and playing Summertime Blues is fucking LAME...NO COVERS I want to see RUSH damn it!!!
I wish they would play Jacob's Ladder...I know they have to play the hits but I really wish they would throw something in that is a real mind blower like when they did Xanadu...but actually I like this set better than the last set because the last set was more like the Vapor Trails set...BUT...I have to hear Overture/Temples or I am going to feel slightly ripped off and I'm going to have to go home feeling like it was good but something was missing...really, don't shove the new album down people's throats, that is selfish, I mean I love the album but come on! Anyway, tell you what, they throw Anthem in there than ALL is well...I miss Driven as well, and I wish they would play Stick it Out...but I mean fuck, it is still pretty good...I have seen them play 2112 about 4 times but nothing makes me happier in the world than hearing that with an audience...get rid of Tom Sawyer and Spirit and replace it with 2112...I don't care...but that can't happen...man, I love that they are keeping between the wheels though and they aren't playing Bravado...actually there isn't one bad song on that list...I guess it is hard to please everyone when you have at least 15 great albums...either way
RUSH!

Entre Nous is the worst song on Permanent Waves, I would take Different Strings but of all the songs to pick I would pick JACOB'S LADDER!!! how many fans have to scream for that song before it gets played!! I have been really polite but DAMN IT!!! and Mission kind of sucks but Hold Your Fire kind of sucks in my opinion...and than I am going to be thinking to myself I am hearing these two pretty much useless songs and I’m not hearing this that and this and that…and I hate thinking that, but I mean, that is how it is with any band I guess…but anyway…at least the new album doesn’t suck or I would be pissed! If this were the Powerwindows show I would want a refund

I understand the disappointment of some posters here, especially with the total absence of 2112's title track (as a moot point, I feel that that album as a whole has been OVERWHELMINGLY under-represented on every tour since about 1985...).
HOWEVER
What I take issue with most of all is not the absence (or indeed presence) of any particular songs (well, then again, of all the 8 tracks on Signals, they've chosen the one song I hate - "Digital Man"!!), but the way in which the set is so poorly distributed this time around. Let me elaborate:
On the Vapor Trails tour of 2002/3, they covered 15 of their 17 LP's - every album except Caress of Steel and Hold Your Fire (arguably their 2 weakest albums). On the 30th Anniversary tour in 2004, they covered every album except Presto (again, one of their weakest). Yet here, they have only covered 10 out of 18 LP's, with half of those 10 being represented by only 1 song (and if you could choose one Hold Your Fire track, how many would have gone for "Mission", I wonder?).
While I see Snakes and Arrows as a VERY strong addition to their illustrious history (for me, it's the album Presto and Roll The Bones should have been), I feel 9 tracks to be excessive. I just can't help but feel that this may result in a lot of disappointments, especially for those who, unlike myself, have never seen the band live.
Your thoughts?

As a LONG time Rush fan and devotee, I see it like this: They LOVE their new record, and they're proud of it. Rightly so. For a band doing this as long as they have, they must do something to keep it fresh...to keep it from being tedious. Look, we all love 2112, but honestly, do we have to hear Overture on every tour? Just pop in your Rush In Rio DVD, or better yet, put on the "Different Stages" CD and you can hear the entire 2112 concept piece. I happen to like that there's a huge dose of new songs--the CD has been in my player in heavy rotation, and I love the songs they've chosen. I also like that they're including a few other nuggets that haven't seen the light of day in a long while. I actually LOVE it when established bands move away from doing a "greatest hits" show...Rush is no exception. They're not some "golden oldies" act--they're a viable band that continues to move forward. We as fans, should, perhaps, learn from that and move with them.

I can live without hearing 2112 again...especially in the wake of the "rarer" tracks they're playing instead.
Digital Man Entre Nous Mission Circumstances Between The Wheels (one of my faves) Natural Science Witch Hunt
Are ALL welcome additions. Hope they're still in the set when the band hits St. Louis!!

heavy with new songs. AFter all, I am still learning and familiarizing myself with the new cd. Some of the songs immediately grabbed me and I am glad to see that the band is not afraid to play lots of new songs. Some of those songs might not make it to the next tour in the year 2000-whatever.
I do hope they decide to add my personal favorite, "Mystic Rthyms" but if not, I am still really happy to be able to see them touring still after 30 years.

I have scene Rush over 30 times and this is by far the worst set list ever... They are so crisp, so don't get me wrong. Absolute masters at their instruments.
Here is the reason why is was so back - 28 songs. 11 from Snakes and Arrows - come on - they usually play 5 to promote the album. And why, why, why are they playing Summertime Blues again - NO COVERS
Sorry to be the wet blanket - but when you have scene them over 30 times you can be judgmental!!!!

I've scene these guys 30 times in the past 17 years and this set list is brutal. 12 of the 28 songs are from the Snakes or Covers??? What happened to 5 songs from the new album and then all the old shit that everyone loves!!!!
No.... Xanadu (Best Rush song ever made) Red Barchetta Bastille Day Working Man Force Ten Time Stand Still Big Money Distant Early Warning The Trees Closer to the Heart Driven Countdown La Villa Strangiato Fly By Night By Tor and the Snow Dog Anthem Red Sector A
All the older stuff they play is weird - Entre Nous (Great song for petting my dog) Mission (Great song for washing my car) Subdivisions (Alex - play the guitar - stay away from the mic...) Witch Hunt (For all the damn songs they could have chosen from Moving Pictures - they choose the Worst One)!!! At least play the triology of Fear (Those of you who really know Rush know what I'm talking about.
If you are happy about this set - then it is clear you have seen them no more than 1 time (This tour)!!!!
I'm bringing 8 people to the show and 1/2 the songs are head scratchers!!! This is not what their first Rush experience should be...

Wake up! This is Rush's final tour. This album is the culmination of everything they have been trying to say for 30+ years, both musically and lyrically. Look at the setlist. It's no accident that Entre Nous and Natural Science are in there. These are songs about the human circumstance, just like MOST of their new album. Hint: "Circumstances" is in there as well. These guys have more money than you know who. They don't need to tour if they don't want to. They are trying to send a message. You people that are crying for 2112 and Tom Sawyer need to pull your heads out of your pop-metal asses and go see these guys. Read the lyrics of Snakes and Arrows while you listen with headphones on. This album is a freakin' CLASSIC. You should be STOKED that their are 9 songs from it on tour. Wake up and rock on. RUSH RULES!!!

i have seen these guys every tour since farewell to kings , and i have to say this was the worst show i have seen these guys do. the song selection was bruttle and the sound something else. it was so loud that all you could hear was bass and bass drums. You could only hear Alex when he did his solos. and Neil's solo? what happened to his usual 12 minutes, not 6 and the electric drums, terrible. i respect these guys as musicians alot, being a musician myself. but that is the last time i see them in concert. so sad...........
