New GUNS N' ROSES Track for Guitar Hero III? - June 17, 2007
According to Product Shop NYC, Activision has announced it will release Guitar Hero III, the fifth version of the guitar jamming game, in early 2008. The soundtrack will include a wide variety of material, including tracks by QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE and (possibly) new GUNS N' ROSES. As of now though, the only tracks confirmed for the game are listed at the bottom of this article.

Guitar Hero III will also include more master recordings than previous iterations and a greater number of original recordings. The company also confirmed that the game would be getting two new controllers — a Gibson Les Paul guitar model for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii consoles, and a Gibson Kramer guitar for the PlayStation 2. Both controllers will be wireless. The new game will also get a host of new features, including a "multiplayer action-inspired battle mode," and authentic rock venues. An expanded online multiplayer mode will allow gamers to compete with other guitar heroes worldwide.

RedOctane's head of publishing, Dusty Welch, said that the team had listened to fans' requests for this edition of the game. He commented, "Many of the top bands and songs we've tried to get in the past are now on board, and we've definitely got some giant aces in the hole to say the least."

Here's a list of the tracks that have been announced so far:

Original Recordings:

"Cult of Personality" by LIVING COLOUR
"Paint It Black" by THE ROLLING STONES
"Cherub Rock" by SMASHING PUMPKINS
"Sabotage" by BEASTIE BOYS
"The Metal" by TENACIOUS D
"My Name Is Jonas" by WEEZER
"Knights of Cydonia" by MUSE
"Evenflow" by PEARL JAM
"Lay Down" by PRIESTESS

Cover Songs:

"Rock And Roll All Nite" as made famous by KISS
"School's Out" as made famous by ALICE COOPER
"Slow Ride" as made famous by FOGHAT
"Barracuda" as made famous by HEART

The electric factory in Philly is hardly a legendary venue. It has hosted great concerts over the year. Actually, I prefer the tower. Sure, the sound is a bit muffled there, but the atmosphere just reeks of Mick Jagger's piss.

The Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver B.C

Speeking of Legendary Venues, im going to see a metal show at The Whisky next week. "Daath" is playing with a bunch of other metal bands, but im more pumped to take in the venue than the music.

yea, factory is not really legendary. But how about the troc. the video for evenflow (i believe) was taped there. The tower is so small, i couldnt fit my fat ass in there.

Spectrum per chance? how many dead shows were sold out the like 64?

I'm sick to death hearing people tout the name Chinese Democracy like it means anything. Even if there is a possibility of a new GNR song on Guitar Hero 3, I say skip it and get some classic rocking tunes instead. Maybe "Seek and Destroy," "Rock You Like a Hurricane," "Middle of the Road," "Peacekeeper," "Powerslave" etc.

Pantera's on GH1 actually.

I kinda agree though, I think after a while they're just gonna have to some out with single genre GH's because trying to make room for all types is gonna get old..I wouldn't mind seeing a GH Metal Mix or a GH classic rock mix.

Your idea isn't that that bad because, lo and behold, they are already starting in that vein. Harmonix will make is last GH with a 80's themed one. Check Wikipedias for this one, the song lineup is prettty much glam metal but that will be quite fun to play. And also, it is realeased this ummer (July I think) All the others will be made by Neversoft from then on.

Riotact666 is a joyful soul that knows real rock n' roll. You guys are so hateful to him because you wish you could have his happiness. Too bad. When you guys are sitting at home whining to mommy about how your life sucks, know that riotact666 is living it up!
