MAYHEM U.S. Tour Cancelled

Season of Mist, Thunderdome Booking and Decibel magazine have announced the cancellation of MAYHEM's "Deconsecrate the States" 2007 U.S. tour that was scheduled to launch in July.
During his recent stint across the U.S. with fellow Norwegian countrymen DIMMU BORGIR, MAYHEM drummer Hellhammer suffered an unfortunate and serious injury to his right limb. It is impossible for him to play any time soon as he is currently scheduling surgery and will need rest and rehabilitation in order to heal his impaired arm. Being that Hellhammer is such an indispensable part of the band, fellow members Necrobutcher, Blasphemer and Attila realized that they are not complete without him and had no choice but to cancel this current U.S. jaunt.
The band has issued the following statement on the matter: "The power of MAYHEM must come at full force and without Hellhammer, it is impossible for us to accomplish this feat. We deeply regret having to cancel the tour but we feel that there truly was no other option. We shall however return stronger than ever to deconsecrate your shores as soon as humanly possible!"
MAYHEM's latest CD, "Ordo Ad Chao", entered the Norwegian album chart at position No. 12, the band's highest position ever.
MAYHEM had only once before been on the Norwegian charts, when the band's last album, "Chimaira", reached No. 28 in 2004.

What a letdown. I was actually looking forward to seeing this tour even though they're notorious for putting on drunken, shitty live shows.
The rescheduled tour needs to 1) have more dates, and 2)include Sigh or Wolves in the Throne Room (or, even better, both) on the entire stint, not just the west coast.

Yes, as a matter of fact Mayhem were the obscenely arrogant fools saying that they are the best band in an interview... and "fuck this fuck that fuck them". They appear to be a bunch of clueless fucks. The music is okay though. I can't see why people love them as much as they do but they're not too bad.

That sucks...was looking forward to the show and finally seeing Hellhammer live.
Mayhem has consistently delivered great albums and pushed the boundaries of a genre they helped create...and Hellhammer is an incredible drummer that has brought a great deal of aggression, speed, stamina, and musicality to the many bands he has sessioned and toured with. We are lucky to have him in metal.
If you don't get the band, so be it (no one cares), but don't start crucifying every metal band that says something stupid (and clearly in jest) when drunk...

I agree that this wouldn't be a true Mayhem lineup without the mighty Hellhammer!! He is the only last "true" member from the old days! Hopefully they'll schedule a full US Tour to make up for this!!!!!
