STALAGGH Vocalist Killed In Car Accident
- July 17, 2007
|
|
|
STALAGGH, a "misantropik-nihilistik" projekt of leading individuals from both the Dutch and Belgian black metal and elektro/ambient scenes, has issued the following update:
"Last weekend one of our vocalists (the one who killed his mother at the age of 16) was killed in a car accident at the age of 29. He performed on several of our projekts. Now he is dead, we can finally tell why he killed his mother at such a young age. When he was between 6 and 11 years old he was sexually abused by his uncle. His mother knew about this and let it happen. Because of this such a murderous hatred towards his mother grew in his mind that at the age of 16 he killed her with over 30 knife stab wounds."
STALAGGH — whose members past and present will remain anonymous — released its latest album, "Projekt Misanthropia", earlier in the year via Autopsy Kitchen Records.

They didn't go anonymous, they always have been anonymous, and even if it is a gimmick, their recordings are too outside of typical music for it to garner many sales. The whole thing with STALAGGH is that theoretically no one knows anything about them, Metal Maniacs interviewed them and had no clue who they were, as they kept themselves in obscuring shadows at all times. All they would say is that they have played in the black metal scene and are trying something else. If it is a hoax, it is kind of silly, since their recordings are such a niche thing that it is unlikely that it will expand their audience through such a thing, and few of those who may check them out after such news would be retained as fans.

I can understand the harsh thought from people that think he should have killed his uncle instead of his mother.....but here is a thought.....think about the person that knows about the horrible thing that was done to you and does nothing about. That kind of hate is the worst thing to deal with it builds until it is released and the person that it gets released on is usually a person that is suppose to be a protecter of the person.....it sucks that the person that it ends up happen to is the wrong person. It's just that in order to understand the feelings of a person that has been harmed wrongfully you would have to be in a situation that is simliar to what the guy was put through.

Well, Tiredofbeingalive, you must be the master of all music. I mean, if you haven't heard them as an influence, they can't be one, right?
Hope you don't listen to Primus, to name one of many kick ass bands that the Residents directly influenced.
I love how there is a Residents argument in a Stalaggh news story.
I don't know how many of you have heard Stalaggh but they are probably as close to genuine insanity as any band I've heard. They're music is dark to begin with but the real head cases that they get to just wail on these records are what really put it over the edge.

I actually read up on these guys (why, I don't know), and apparently they have mental patients do the vocals. One guy killed his mother (the one mentioned in the article), one was nearly murdered during the recording process (which was also recorded), and one killed himself after doing his part. That's what I gathered...

I did some research too and just as I thought they've claimed in several interviews that this particular guy committed suicide. Here's an excerpt from one of them:
"For example, on our first projekt: Projekt Nihil we used a murder convict to represent feelings of hate and aggression. The vocals done by the mental patient represent pain and suffering. Their insanity will infest your soul. Screams of pain and hatred are much more intense than screaming lyrics. The murderer killed his mother at the age of 16 with over 30 knife stab wounds for no apparent reason. He spent four years in a maximum-security youth prison and after that, seven years in a prison for delinquents with a mental disease. He has an extreme aggression disorder and is very hard to handle. We have been in contact with him since he was released. After we told him what :Stalaggh: was all about he was very enthusiastic to participate. While recording Projekt Nihil he did some very excessive self-mutilation and he screamed all of his murderous aggression out of his soul. He has participated in both Projekt Nihil and Projekt Terrror. The mental patient was a very sad human being as he was in constant mental pain. He was a man with extreme anorexia nervosa and was about 45 kilo in weight. He also had borderline syndrome and had been in and out of mental hospitals for many years. It was very hard to persuade him to participate in the :Stalaggh: projekt. After the recording he said that doing some of the vocals was the best therapy he ever had. He killed himself a few months after the recording of Projekt Nihil."
I wonder where blabbermouth got their information from because the guy can't just have walked up from his grave and died again, can he?

I just realized I fucked up. I always thought that the murder convict and the mental patient was the same person. I can't believe I didn't get that until now. Reading the excerpt again it's all very clear that there's two of them and that it's the mental patient who killed himself and not the murderer, just as killshredder wrote.

I looked up some more interviews by them. It seems they used 2 vocalists for their first project. Here's a quote: "On Projekt Nihil we only used two mental patients and that was already most difficult. For Projekt Terrror we used four and we had prepared for the worst." ":Projekt Misanthropia: was recorded in 3 parts. This time we used the vocals of 7 mental patients, more than we had ever used before." I also found a sample on youtube:

and that was more than enough for me! Damn, sick stuff!
