ALTER BRIDGE: Two New Songs Posted Online - July 26, 2007
ALTER BRIDGE has posted two songs from its second album, titled "Blackbird", on its MySpace page. Check out the tracks "Rise Today" and "Ties that Bind" at this location.

ALTER BRIDGE will release "Blackbird", on October 9 through Universal Republic Records. "Blackbird" will follow up the band's 2004 debut, "One Day Remains", which came out on Wind-Up Records.

The album's title track is an eight-minute song that singer Myles Kennedy said was inspired by a friend who passed away as the tune was completed. Kennedy explained, "It's a story about the struggle to move on to a better place. It was my wish for him to finally find his peace."

"Blackbird" track listing:

01. Ties That Bind
02. Come To Life
03. Brand New Start
04. Buried Alive
05. Coming Home
06. Before Tomorrow Comes
07. Rise Today
08. Blackbird
09. One By One
10. Watch Over You
11. Break Me Down
12. White Knuckles
13. Wayward One

Guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips were all previously in CREED, while Kennedy sang for the MAYFIELD FOUR.

"One Day Remains" debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard album chart and was certified gold for sales of more than 500,000 copies.

I can tell by reviews on the left side of the page that this isn't a site that is focussed on metal. And by the way, this is not metal. It is brutal, searing black metal.

Possibly the best thing these guys did was to fire Mark Tremonti and get Scott Stapp on guitar. At first I was unsure of what to expect because I had no idea Stapp even played guitar but damn he is great. Though Im usually not a huge fan of darker metal this is very tight. Does anyone know what Tremonti is doing now? Alter Bridge ROXXXXX!!!!!!!

This excuse for a third rate Creed (if thats possible) is the most generic, derivative, radio friendly bullshit I heard in years.

Come on, and you little girls give Korn a hard time, and Im not even a Korn fan...

Ties that Bind -- pretty cool song. And yes, it is metal kiddies. There are bands with real vocalist that are metal. I'd even argue that cookie monster music is not metal, its trash.

good stuff! I never liked Creed all that much, but Alter Bridge is my cup of tea (no, I'm not british). Fuck you ppl who can't appreciate other forms of music than just metal; I love metal, but you should branch out to other types of music.

Was an appropriate name for Alter Bridge's first cd. I think the will come into their own on the new cd. Granted, the band IS 3/4 Creed, so the similarities will be intact.

Whoever said this obviously isn't very familiar with Alter Bridge.

Scott Stapp is out and Mark Tremonti is still in it and is one of thee best guitarists out there.
Myles Kennedy, their new lead singer, does some guitar work on their new CD. Maybe that is where you got things mixed up.
