DOWN: New Album Tentative Release Date Revealed

DOWN — the acclaimed New Orleans band featuring CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower ( EYEHATEGOD, SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist), bassist Rex Brown (ex- PANTERA), guitarist Kirk Windstein ( CROWBAR), and vocalist Philip Anselmo ( SUPERJOINT RITUAL, ex- PANTERA) — is scheduled to release its long-awaited third full-length album, tentatively titled "Down III", on September 25 through the Independent Label Group ( ILG), which is composed of Warner Music Group Corp.'s Asylum Records, East West Records and Cordless Recordings. Producer Warren Riker ( CROWBAR, SUBLIME) helmed the effort, for which the band had reportedly composed more than 18 tracks. DOWN bassist Rex Brown recently stated about the CD, "In a few short moons you will be hearing the most fck'n amazing and classic DOWN record ever made. Strap on your seatbelts and enjoy the fck'n ride. This is the real deal, folks; it ain't no bullshit. So smoke whiskey and let me know who's ready!?!" DOWN guitarist Kirk Windstein commented, "We record tunes on two-inch tape and then drop them to ProTools. The mixing process is a lot easier with automation. But believe me, we jam our balls off on every tune. This ain't no computerized, polished nu-metal CD. This is the real deal!!" Several photos of DOWN recording its new CD at a Los Angeles studio have surfaced online: Photo#1Photo#2Photo#3DOWN has been confirmed to support HEAVEN AND HELL on their upcoming tour of Australia/New Zealand. The dates are as follows: Aug. 02 - Challenge Arena – Perth, AUS Aug. 05 - Thebarton Theatre - Adelaide, AUS Aug. 07 - WIN Entertainment Centre - Wollongong, AUS Aug. 08 - Entertainment Centre - Newcastle, AUS Aug. 10 - Rod Laver Arena - Melbourne, AUS Aug. 11 - Entertainment Centre - Sydney, AUS Aug. 14 - Entertainment Centre - Brisbane, AUS Aug. 16 - Logan Campbell Centre - Auckland, NZ DOWN performed a brand new song, entitled "I Scream", during their headlining appearance at the Roseland in New York City on Saturday, March 31. I can't freaking wait for this. It's been a long time since I've looked forward to a new album as much as I'm looking forward to this.
Now if only Axl would finally release Chinese Democracy this would be one of the best years for new music in quite a while.

Their debut album is so raw and heavy its better than the last couple of Pantera albums were. Cowboys from Hell is still the best. I look forward to Down III. They Down reminds me a Vol 4 MOR Sabbath

Ofcourse Down is "heavier" than Pantera, because they are more "underground". I am sure to get Down III.
I like them both, but this shit tossing is lame. Phil is king of metal, since Rob is the god as he said.

Even if some of the material's not up to snuff, they should have a B-sides disc. Down at 60% smokes most everyone else at 100%.

Fucking Down owns bitches. Down Nola is the greatest heavy CD in the past 20 years. It's not Thrash or Death or Black, it's just fucking Heavy. After Down III is released, I can bet Metallica will take down some notes on what a quality metal CD should sound like. Down III will destroy all.
