GODSMACK Might Launch Acoustic Tour In November
- Aug. 2, 2007
The Pulse Of Radio (formerly Launch Radio Networks) reports: GODSMACK is currently on a North American tour that comes to a close later this month, but fans might have one more chance to see the group this year. Singer Sully Erna told The Pulse of Radio that the band is thinking of doing some special shows this fall to commemorate its 10th anniversary. "We may possibly run in November, a small three- or four-week tour doing the acoustic show again," he said. "Hopefully before the holidays hit, we're gonna release a greatest hits record for our 10th year anniversary, accompanied by a live acoustic show that we filmed in Las Vegas. It's really, really filmed well and sounds great, so that's kind of like what we're trying to accomplish in the immediate future."
GODSMACK last played acoustic shows in 2004 to promote its acoustic EP, "The Other Side".
The band next plays on Friday (August 3) in Las Vegas.
GODSMACK will utilize 19 cameras to film its show next Tuesday (August 7) at the Sturgis Bike Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota for a live DVD. Singer Sully Erna commented in a press release, "GODSMACK is more excited about this show than any other show we've played in the last decade." Erna added that the band is planning its "biggest show ever" for the event.
In addition to the greatest hits set, the group may issue a 10th anniversary box set containing all four of its albums along with "The Other Side".
ANOTHER ANIMAL, the side project featuring the other three members of GODSMACK, will release its self-titled debut CD on October 2.

lol, nice dethklok reference, great show. i dont get all the hate on godsmack tho. they deliver a killer live show, with the drum battle and everything, and they have some great rockin songs. it is more rock than metal i will say, but its still some good stuff to hear. its along the lines of VR: not metal, but still good tunes.

^^^ give me a fucking break, the drum jam crap that they do is lame. I had to sit through 20 minutes of it at one show that they were unfortunately at. Shite...

I'm cool with these guys bringing out a greatest hits album, as long as they inlcude the track "Bring It On". C'mon guys, release that song from the Madden game. The only other way for fans to get it is to download the shitty copy from the net.
COMMENT | I've said it before.. posted by : jugulator2 8/3/2007 12:39:00 PM
I didn't used to be a big fan of these guys..the first album had a few good songs, the second had a few good songs and a lot that sounded the same, the third I can't comment on because I haven't heard the whole thing, but still has a few I've heard that I like, but the fourth one is really good..the songs all have an identity apart from one another and the album flows really well..there's bluesy songs, hard hitting songs, a haunting acoustic ballad, etc...good stuff..also Sully is actually a good SINGER. If you don't want to own all their albums and just want the really good songs, a greatest hits sounds like a really good idea..I'll be getting it..good road music.

These guys are pretty good I mean, they play good live and the songs are good too. Sure their not all metal but they bring on some good music, plus theres no denying that Sully is a great at what he does, He drums, plays the guitar and can sing pretty good too least theres talent in the band. I know theres other bands that do more than just one position (ie. just a singer or just a drummer) but you gotta hand it to these guys at least they can do what they do and do it well.

Ok, i had to sign up just for this comment, I have been reading all others comments and I must honestly say as a MUSIC fan and a Godsmack fan, You haters suck. They rock in all genres that they put out there. Comparing their acoustic music to Celin Dion doing metal ???? Come on now. Maybe go ahead, take a moment and step out of your mind thats consumed with your hatred and anger and then, take a listen to the acoustic album. Their music has opened doors for many of the "new metal" bands that are out there. Ok, I'm done.
