Exclusive: MACHINE HEAD Recruits HOSTILITY Bassist For North American Tour - Sep. 2, 2007
MACHINE HEAD has recruited Brandon Sigmund from fellow San Francisco Bay Area metal band HOSTILITY to handle the bass parts on the group's upcoming North American tour, BLABBERMOUTH.NET can exclusively reveal. Sigmund is the temporary replacement for regular MACHINE HEAD bassist Adam Duce, who was forced to sit out the upcoming trek after suffering a broken leg while dirt biking in Redding, CA. Initially thought to be nothing more than a bad sprain, x-rays later confirmed the break, which required surgery to attach a steel plate and two screws to the broken bone.

All The Black Tyranny dates in the U.S. will go on as scheduled, and Duce will be returning for the Australian and European legs of The Black Crusade Tour, beginning with the band's Loudpark date in Japan.

The Black Tyranny Tour — featuring MACHINE HEAD, ARCH ENEMY, THROWDOWN and SANCTITY — will kick off later this week. A list of upcoming MACHINE HEAD shows can be found at this location.

HOSTILITY's video for the song "None for All" can be viewed below. The clip was filmed late last year at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, California with director David Kluger.

"None for All" comes off HOSTILITY's critically acclaimed debut album "Uncompromised" (The Pen/Voltaic Records), which was mixed by producer Colin Richardson (SLIPKNOT, MACHINE HEAD, TRIVIUM, SEPULTURA). Richardson previously stated about the CD, "If you want ultimate heaviness, BUY THIS ALBUM!"

Machine Head are becoming one of the biggest bands in the world and their story is simply incredible. THeir latest DVD chronicles the band being shunned by record companies looking for "hit" songs. THere is footage of RObb and the boys actually straining to record a radio hit; it was very pathetic. I'm certain teh MH fellas would deem that their lowest point.

I had the pleasure of meeting them on one of their first tours w/ Naplam Death and Obituary after the release of Burn My Eyes. (As I'm typing this, former drummer Chris Kontos just signed onto my IM) THeir graciousness has been chronicled time and time again and I was lucky enough to know them early.

Also, Duce used to be notorious for passing out with video game remote in hand in the back of the tour bus. Now my man is a hulk. What a transformation. Get well soon dude.
