NINE INCH NAILS' Current Touring Lineup To Disband - Sep. 15, 2007
NINE INCH NAILS mainman Trent Reznor has told StarBulletin.com that the group's current incarnation will disband after the final show of its current tour on Tuesday (September 18) in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Although Reznor's touring band of drummer Josh Freese, guitarist Aaron North, bassist Jeordie White and keyboardist Alessandro Cortini are excellent support players, "at this point, I want to switch things around a bit," he said. "NINE INCH NAILS as a rock band configuration, we've done it and we've done it again. I see other ways I can present the material in concert, more challenging, something new. I don't want it to go stale."

This group has toured together for two years, he said. "It's a well-rounded concert, a good collection of songs from different records."

Much of the buzz surrounding NINE INCH NAILS' latest album, "Year Zero", was created by an imaginative marketing scheme that exploited the Internet to its fullest. "It's the right medium for the content of this record," Reznor explained. "There are too many limitations that record labels use for artists. It's the old business model. With the Internet, everyone's a publisher, and it's kind of liberating to be able to write on my Web site, uncensored, for better or worse."

Does this mean hes going to do a Tommy Lee and become a DJ? if so, what a fuckin idiot.

Nothing new... NIN, aside from Reznor of course, is a revolving door of studio and touring musicians. So, there's no suprise that he's dropping everyone and starting over. As someone else pointed out, it is interesting that Reznor seemed to hint that he might not use a "rock band configuration" in the future. I've always been a NIN fan, even though that last two albums are probably my least favorite.

I'd like to see what Trent has up his sleeve.

He wrote a lot of great Manson songs and riffs and even some A Perfect Circle stuff. He really needs to start his own band using his songs. I don't care if he plays bass or guitar just do it!

what a jerk, this guy talkscracp about SP be not being SP because James and D'arcy aren't there and it not being original to him even though Billy wrote everything, yet he goes and has different touring line-ups for every album. Prick

I kind of like the new trend of revolving/evolving bands. It eliminates a lot of band infighting and ego raging.

It'll be cool to msee what direction he goes in, maybe back to the earliest days of a few guys with samplers and keyboards?

Totally agree with longsincedark!!

Sorry to hear it. Glad i got to see this lineup live. Also some other bands that had other band lineup changes and still did well. Motorhead , Megadeth , Metallica , Black Sabbath to name a few.

I've seen every NIN tour except '99/'00, and his current band was by far the best live band Trent ever had. Hopefully at least a couple of these guys will start a band together; their chemistry was a thing to behold.

plur

One of the most creative and epic forces in modern music. Nothing with the NIN logo on it ever disappoints.

bring back Danny Lohner, and Chris Vrenna...that would be sick...Alessandro is great at what he does...keep him and keep Aaron North...he's quite a pleasure to watch live...hurry up and tour the US...

Why would he do something like that? Oh man, sober Trent doesn't know where he's going does he? I wish he wouldn't disband because I actually like this group. But yea, I do think he should bring back robin and danny cause they ruled. But seriously, I don't know if this is a good thing, or a bad thing.

As for best CDs, I can't say I was a huge fan of the last three albums he put out. They were decent, and of course I still bought them, but I miss the heavier shit, like Downwerd Spiral and Broken
