The discs will be available as follows:

* Deluxe Edition DVD
* Deluxe Edition HD DVD and Blu-ray

"We have revisited 'The Song Remains The Same'," says Jimmy Page, "and can now offer the complete set as played at Madison Square Garden. This differs substantially from the original soundtrack released in 1976, and highlights the technical prowess of Kevin Shirley, who worked with us on 'How The West Was Won'. When it comes to 'The Song Remains The Same', the expansion of the DVD and soundtrack are as good as it gets on the LED ZEPPELIN wish list."

The remastered versions of Led Zep music have continously over driven in sound and too damn clean for what the original intention of the music was. Down and Dirty. Cleaned up Zep music is a travesty.

Blimp is right. Though DVD doesn't sound TOO much like a cash-in, the Mothership package is definitely a shameless cash-in to coincide with the one-off gig.

After all, what motivation does Atlantic/Rhino have for taking a risk on new music when they can 'make old new again' by repackaging dinosaur rock group greatest hits albums over and over again every couple years and selling them with 'cleaned up sound' (how much MORE cleaned up can it get??) and a new album cover! From a business perspective, it's a guaranteed return. It's safer (household names are guaranteed to push at least couple hundred thousand) and cheaper than taking a risk on a bunch of new artists (they'll still sign some, but not as many as they would have to otherwise).

Well, on the bright-side, maybe the renewed back catalog sales figures these guys will see this fall and winter will motivate them to put a tour together (albeit charging $200-$300 for a pavillion seat).

nice to see a ZEPPELIN incorporated into the artwork... yes, we already have these songs, but maybe the collector's edition will have some nice extras that make it worth it...

the concert dvd will be a nice upgrade...

Zeppelin's a legit legend, but Song Remains the Same is one of the worst live albums ever. Just flat, dull, LONG. Save your bucks for some early live stuff like the BBC sessions.

I wil definitely check out the DVD. Haven't seen "The Song Remains The Same" since a midnight showing at the fabled Mini-Cinema (RIP) in Uniondale, NY in, I think, (cough, pass that shit!) '79. Hopefully the "New Technology" and complete set list will fuckin' own. Now I gotta convince someone else to buy it so's I can check it out in case it sux.
