SOILWORK's video for the song "Exile" can be viewed below. The track comes off the Swedish metallers' new album, "Sworn to a Great Divide", due in North America on October 23 via Nuclear Blast Records.

The vocals for the new CD were recorded in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada with the help of STRAPPING YOUNG LAD mastermind Devin Townsend. The track listing for the effort is as follows:

01. Sworn To A Great Divide
02. Exile
03. Breeding Thorns
04. Your Beloved Scapegoat
05. The Pittsburgh Syndrome
06. I, Vermin
07. Light Discovering Darkness
08. As The Sleeper Awakes
09. Silent Bullet
10. Sick Heart River
11. 20 More Miles

As previously reported, SOILWORK contributed a new song called "Overclocked" to the soundtrack of the European point-and-click adventure game of the same name, due in Europe on October 12 via Anaconda. The track will also be available for purchase via the Nuclear Blast Musicshop.

Overclocked is being developed by House of Tales, the Germany-based studio that worked on other point-and-clickers The Moment of Silence and Mystery of the Druids. The psychological thriller focuses on army psychiatrist David McNamara, who is called to Staten Island Forensic Hospital to evaluate the condition of five young patients who have lost their memories to try to get to the root of their psychological trauma. In the game, the player switches between the six different characters as they explore their memories.

SOILWORK recently announced the addition of guitarist Daniel Antonsson (DIMENSION ZERO, PATHOS) to the group's ranks.

SOILWORK's last CD, "Stabbing the Drama", is available on Nuclear Blast Records. The follow-up to 2003's "Figure Number Five" was recorded at Fascination Street studios in Örebro and Dug-Out Productions in Uppsala, Sweden with producer Daniel Bergstrand (MESHUGGAH, IN FLAMES, STUCK MOJO).

Guitarist Peter Wichers left SOILWORK in December 2005 to pursue a career in producing.

Get in the Pit TV interviewed SOILWORK guitarist Ola Frenning at the Ilosaarirock festival on July 15, 2007 in Joensuu, the capital of Eastern Finland. Watch the footage at this location.

Dissapointing song - And what's up with the leads? No shredding anymore... just boring stuff :-( Hope the rest of the cd is better.

1. Are a great group of guys.
2. Write incredible fucking melodies.
3. Need to get some of their edge back.

This song is probably not indicative of the sound of the album as a whole. As with most newer Soilwork records, I'm sure there is a mixture of mellow songs, such as "Exile," and more up-tempo stuff. "Exile" is kinda boring, but the vocals are terrific and the guitar harmonies are also nice. Their melodies are so well-written, though...I really appreciate that aspect of what they're doing. So many bands try to mimick what Soilwork does, and most of them fail miserably.

Great band, though "Exile" is definitely an average song overall. I'll reserve judgement on their album until I hear more.

I dunno about this. I've loved Soilwork's releases for a long time now, and I hate to be a jerk like this, but it's just not how they used to be. I'm not too impressed with this track.

was made for radio. But still, goddamn! I love those melodies. And the singing...wow. I always liked the vocals in soilwork. Decent guitar work too; they choose not to put a ripping lead in but a nice twin-guitar lead. good touch.

Hey, hope its as good as Stabbing the Drama... especially the drumming. I buy mad metal cd's of all subgenres but Dirk's performance on STD was probably the best of that year drumming wise. Underrated cd.

I have all Soilwork's albums btw and i dunno i still think STB was their best yet so i have high hopes here.

Most all these bands' new directions are good progressions , fuck always sounding the same.

what the hell are they doing? this is not soilwork, stabbing the drama was horrible, this sounds even worse. why would they become so bland and predictable when they have legendary perfect albums like a predators portrait and chainheart machine, this is truly a shame. natural born chaos was their last amazing effort at music, figure number five was decent, but this is just uncalled for and terrible.

It's better than anyting since Natural Born Chaos, but I need to hear the full album to "see" the full picture.
I guess this band is cursed with lucklaster stage presence, looking at the video (concept of shooting a video is usually to be much more active than live since you don't really need to play & you're moving to a backing track) I hate to imagine how tired they look live in concert.
Still, a good band musically.

The things that keeps me coming back to Soilwork are the vocals and melodies. No, this song isn't that heavy, but it is very well-written and it's extremely catchy. I'm definately hoping there will be some heavy stuff on this album, and I'm sure there will be, but not every song needs to be fucking brutal to be good. The melodies and hooks this band writes are far superior than most other bands today. I'm eagerly awaiting this album, and I know it won't dissapoint. I'm not expecting another Predator's Portrait or NBC, but STD seriously was not a bad album, so if it's like that, then I'll be more than happy.

Granted, this song isn't their best, but I still like it. Took a little while to grow on me. The guitars aren't as up front as some of their other shit, but I enjoy the singing.

And it amazes me that people have come to the conclusion that their whole CD sucks because of one song. Shut the fuck up and wait until you hear the full album. One song isn't necessarily a good judge of a whole album. I can think of many albums with several softer and/or shitter songs, and a bunch of kick ass songs to contrast that.

You can always tell when the kids are posting.

Bands PROGRESS. They get sick of playing "chugga chugga bark bark bark" and, as they grow older and more experienced, branch out and evolve to encompass more than their hardcore beginnings. You either grow with the band or remain stuck in the juvenile misery of your pubes.

Soilwork are a fantastic band that keep cranking out solid albums. If you can't accept that, shut the hell up, lock yourself in your room and listen to your "chugga chugga bark bark bark." Idiots.

Eh, you just can't win with some people. If a band tries to branch out and change up their sound, they'll be shit on for not keeping their sound from their older cds. If, however, they keep putting out CD's with the same exact style as previous ones, they'll be shit on for writing the same CD over and over.

you have no idea what you're talking about, they haven't progressed, unless you're talking about their bank account. they're trying to appeal to all these emo kids and writing "poppy" metal for losers like you. you obviously aren't familiar with the chainheart machine and a predators portrait. those cds had very intense guitar work and drumming, especially the chainheart machine. there is no progession here, but just a half ass attempt of appeasing all the rich kid new listeners like devils.dominion, and ripping people off. oooh maybe they'll go on tour with avenged sevenfold, that'd be so cooooo.

Soilwork has always had soft songs on there albums and this is the single so I expected a song like this. Good news is I like this trax better than most there other soft songs. Great Chorus! I think this album will be heavier than the last 2. I am thinking (hoping) a mix between NBC and PP.

Also the album cover is awesome! Most Soilwork album covers suck. Hoping the music is as good. I am a little concerned that Peter left.
