DANZIG Rejoined By Guitarist TODD YOUTH For Forthcoming Tour - Sep. 21, 2007
Glenn Danzig will hit the road beginning in late October for a handful of live concert dates on both the East and West coasts. Joining Glenn on these dates will be bassist Steve Zing (SAMHAIN) and guitarist Todd Youth (DANZIG, MURPHY'S LAW); former MISFITS axe man Doyle Von Frankenstein and his new band GORGEOUS FRANKENSTEIN, will support on all dates.

Glenn and Doyle have been in the studio recording Doyle's first solo album, "Gorgeous Frankenstein", which Danzig produced and will release on October 16 on his label, Evilive. According to Glenn, he and Doyle recorded "eight blood-curdling tracks" that include "Man or Monster", "Devilgirl", "Reverse of God", and "Made In Hell". The two played all instruments on the album.

These DANZIG dates are also in support of "The Lost Tracks of Danzig", the two-CD set that was released May 29, as well as Glenn's limited-edition book "Drukija, Contessa of Blood", loosely based on the legend of 17th century vampire Countess Elizabeth Bathory, and illustrated by long time collaborator Simon Bisley. "The Lost Tracks" is comprised of 26 previously unreleased tracks that span Danzig's entire career and were originally recorded during the band's seven-album "arc" that began with 1988's "Danzig".

What follows are the confirmed DANZIG East and West Coast dates. Other than these shows, DANZIG has no plans to do any touring in the foreseeable future.

Oct. 23 - Rams Head Live, Baltimore, MD
Oct. 24 - Electric Factory, Philadelphia, PA
Oct. 25 - Palladium, Worcester, MA
Oct. 27 - Nokia Theatre, New York, NY
Oct. 30 - House of Blues, Las Vegas, NV
Oct. 31 - Greek Theatre, Los Angeles, CA
Nov. 01 - The Grove, Anaheim, CA
Nov. 02 - Warfield Theatre, San Francisco, CA

He really didn't get a chance because I believed I Luciferi sucked. The lost Tracks stuff with Youth was second only to the original lineup material- especially the single. I love that song. I hope they play some of the Lost Tracks stuff live, with special guest- JOHN CHRIST!

That's awsome, I believe him to be an underated player. I thought he was great on the I Luciferi album and tour. I saw him stand in for Phil in Motorhead back on the Hammered Tour (2002) when Phil's mom past away (r.i.p.). He was pretty damn good then too!

Todd Youth is great. I saw him with Danzig years ago and he did an excellent job. The I Luciferi line-up is second only to the orignal Danzig line-up. I've liked him ever since he played on the last D Generation album.

That's cool Steve Zing is playing bass, I'm still waiting for him to put out another album with DOOMTREE.

Since Danzig will never do a Misfits reunion, maybe he'll eventually do a tour with the original line-up.

The Samhain reunion KICKED ass....even though Pete "Damien" Marshall and Eerie Von weren't there(not sure why).

"Devi's Child" was O.K. & that "I Luciferi" sucked & "Circle Of Snakes" sucked even worse.

Please don't rip me apart, (J/K) I'm just asking for some honest opinions on the aforementioned albums.

I agree on the last comment posted on the production quality on the last 2 albums, Iluciferi ans corcle of snakes, i think glen as a writer/ vocalist he is very good at what he does but producing, well i dont think it is his forte. As you can tell with previous recordings and production with rick rubin there is a huge difference. There are some early demo's of the first Danzig album 1988 rehearsal session with danzig and the orignal lineup and all of there songs were obvious not touched by rick rubin and they sounded very week and the lyrics were different, It totally had the early samain feel to those songs which some of those songs were from the samhain era. huge difference from the first album. all of the rick rubin stuff is great. todd youth is an exellent guitarist and a great rplacement for john christ but, I would rather see the orignal lineup, glenn, eerie, john, and the master and legend CHUCK BISCUITS. If you listen to the original line up from danzig 1-4 you can total hear there sound/style developing as a signature danzig sound. John christ is a such a great underated guitarist, He ones of those guitar players you here and you know who it is becuase the man has his own style and tone. same with Chuck biscuits. I got a chance to check the orignal line before Joey c took over drums. I would definatly lay down 50.00 bucks to see the orginal lineup. There that dam good as a band. Who knows what they might have sounded like or what direction they my have taken if they were still the original lineup. I dont know if glenn gets along with those guys or even stays in contact with the original lineup or if he is the jerry only of Danzig, HAHA

I think it was more in the vien of the first four, Circle of Snakes I like, however I always thought the guitars could have been turned down a bit to let the vocals shine more. Circle also reminded me more of Samhain than previous Danzig albums, and that is not a bad thing.

I have the original pressing released from the dsney record label. alot of people hated it but man i really digged that album, It is so diiferent from the rest of the stuff he has ever done. I guess you could see it coming in the past danzig 4 album and in there video, The underground movement of the bondage revival as i call it. Thats one way to change your style from rock is to put out a industrial/ sample/techno beat driven album. i think people should really give that album a chance, it will grow on you.
I luciferi had lots of potential and is a very moody and dark album. I think it need touches of an outside producer as far as the production goes, Its a little stale and needs more fattness on the guitars and drums.
Yeah glenn should bring back john christ and i think he would sell alot of more albums and tickets with john and even the orginal lineup. I prefer the original line up. Fuck that would be killer.
Fuck the ozzfest i would rather go the see the orignal lineup.

It is my least favorite album. I like the guy from prong doing his own thing but tommy victors sound just doesnt quite fit with danzig. Tommy victors guitar on that record sounded like shit because he is using that solid state marshall valvestate mg series shit. Those are the worst marshall amps you can buy and they sound like shit. They use the solidstate technology that emulates tubes and they suck ass. There is nothing like a tube amp when it come to heavy shit. If you listen to the guitars they sound very brittle stale and weak. Tommy victor actually bought a pair of marshall jcm 800 tube amps when they went on tour. He admitted that those amps sounded better for danzig when they are live. Well he should of thought of that when he was recording, duhhhhhhhhhhhh

Will Youth prevent nasty tough men from beating the shit out of Glum Depressed-due-to-Beatings? Will Dungzig grow up and stop pretending to be tough? Will his fans stop weeping for their beaten-up midget hero?

Just wondering.

I hated when i first heard it. I was so used to the classic line-up,that I never gave it a chance for quite some time. That album was full-on industrial/alt/metal all swirled into one. Now,I think it was pure genius. Satan's Child is prob my least fav, with Thirteen being the best track on the cd next to Five finger Crawl. Just didn't like the tempo/arrangements in the songs. I love the guitar sound of I Luciferi,it's the best since I-IV,lyrically too. Todd Youth does kick ass! Glenn needs to mend fences with Rick Rubin,he brought out the best in him. Regardless if he would ever reunite the original line-up(I doubt it)Rubin produced the best Danzig albums, hands down.
