CHEAP TRICK Guitarist To Open Hotel/Restaurant/Museum In Rockford - Oct. 4, 2007
According to WREX-TV, CHEAP TRICK guitarist Rick Nielsen and his business partner Brent Johnson are building Rick's, a hotel/restaurant/museum in Rockford, Illinois.

Construction on the museum hasn't even started yet, but it is expected to include many guitars from Rick's collection. Some he played. Some others played. "Elvis Presley guitar. WHITE STRIPES. Jimi Hendrix. Pete Townsend. CREAM. This is Eric Clapton's guitar," Rick told WREX-TV.

He also has rare guitars. One Chandler slide guitar has CHEAP TRICK's album "In Color" on it. Rick had flies put on a Parker fly guitar.

Some of his pictures may make it into the museum too. And amps. One made from a Cherry Tree in Rockford.

But the museum is just one attraction. Rick's already thinking about having classes there conferences, and weddings. Rick may even get ordained to officiate some weddings himself. Johnson says, "So we want to do rock and roll themed weddings. And have people from all over the country fly here instead of Las Vegas."

Rick is also talking with a reality television show. It's in the early stages, but i everything works out, it may follow the entire construction and opening of Rick's.

He's already had Piece Brewery and Pizzaria in Chicago. The pizza is decent and the ale is outstanding. So he has been in the resturaunt business already.

Zany personality. A sure success with reality show.

being rick neilsen's guitar tech Way too many freaky guitars, with way too many strings to attatch and tune. especially the 5 neck guitar. Thats 30 different strings on 1 guitar, not including the fact that he also has a 12 string on the five necker so that adds up to 35 strings on 1 guitar and he has dozens of them....fuck that..way too much work and he uses a different guitar on each song.
