According to
WREX-TV,
CHEAP TRICK guitarist
Rick Nielsen and his business partner
Brent Johnson are building
Rick's, a hotel/restaurant/museum in Rockford, Illinois.
Construction on the museum hasn't even started yet, but it is expected to include many guitars from
Rick's collection. Some he played. Some others played. "
Elvis Presley guitar.
WHITE STRIPES.
Jimi Hendrix.
Pete Townsend.
CREAM. This is
Eric Clapton's guitar,"
Rick told
WREX-TV.
He also has rare guitars. One
Chandler slide guitar has
CHEAP TRICK's album
"In Color" on it.
Rick had flies put on a
Parker fly guitar.
Some of his pictures may make it into the museum too. And amps. One made from a Cherry Tree in Rockford.
But the museum is just one attraction.
Rick's already thinking about having classes there conferences, and weddings.
Rick may even get ordained to officiate some weddings himself.
Johnson says, "So we want to do rock and roll themed weddings. And have people from all over the country fly here instead of Las Vegas."
Rick is also talking with a reality television show. It's in the early stages, but i everything works out, it may follow the entire construction and opening of
Rick's.
