GODSMACK Looking Back At 'Good Times, Bad Times' In November - Oct. 4, 2007
The Pulse of Radio reports: GODSMACK will release a greatest hits collection called "Good Times, Bad Times - 10 Years of Godsmack" on November 20. A track listing has not been finalized, but the set will presumably include most if not all of the Boston band's 13 Top Five rock hits, as well as a newly recorded version of the title track, originally done by LED ZEPPELIN. The song heads to radio stations this week as the first official single from the record. There are no further details on what else the package will contain, although it's likely that a bonus DVD and some live acoustic footage will be included.

The band will take an extended, indefinite break following the release of the hits compilation, but singer Sully Erna had a message for all the fans that have stuck with GODSMACK for the past decade: "I want to say thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for the support and the love that you've given this band over the years. We're not going away, we are just gonna take a break and enjoy our 10th year anniversary, and kind of recharge our batteries. And then GODSMACK will be back, and we will come back bigger and badder than ever."

GODSMACK might play some acoustic shows in November around the release of "Good Times, Bad Times".

ANOTHER ANIMAL, featuring GODSMACK guitarist Tony Rombola, bassist Robbie Merrill and drummer Shannon Larkin, released its self-titled debut disc on Tuesday (October 2). The new outfit also includes original GODSMACK guitarist Lee Richards and former UGLY KID JOE frontman Whitfield Crane.

ANOTHER ANIMAL is currently on the road with labelmates ALTER BRIDGE.

IV blew... Godsmack totally changed their sound on it. Another animal and Alter bridge??? Sounds like a shitty show to me.

Heard the new song yesterday......I see no reason why they had to take a perfectly good Led Zep song and make it complete soulless tripe with a weak vocal.

I just vomitted in my own mouth. Godsmack covering Zep? Come on, why do we have to ruin everything that was good about the past?

Godsmack sucks and have sang the same songs over and over again since their first album came out. The fact that anybody could say Godsmack changed their sound is amazing to me. They've had the same shitty lyrics, vocal and music on every album they have ever recorded.

Maybe they'll get back together and Sully will just use the phrase 'go away' over and over again instead of trying to mask it with synonomous statements.

right on!

Every record sounds the same to me. Their greatest hits?????? A bit premature?????????????????

I will say that they are great live. I didn't want to admit it but I have to.

I hope I NEVER hear them covering Led Zepplin. I am going to go out of my way to never hear it. Some things should just be left alone. Allow me to contradict myself.... I thought STP did a pretty good job with Dancing Days.

Honestly, I'd rather listen to Tantric.....

Godsmack is pure talent!! Sully is talent to the extream! I don't know what you think about Neil Pert from Rush. You must think he sucks too. Since he was Sully's first drum teacher you moron. You wouldn't know talent if it sat on your face and wiggled.

That's great that Sully's first drum teacher was Neil Pert. Unfortunately drumming has absolutely NOTHING to do with singing. Though it becomes obvious that Sully should have stuck with drumming. Maybe he should have had a few meetings with Aretha Franklin, instead.
