Legendary Bay Area Thrashers FORBIDDEN To Reunite For Select Shows
- Oct. 5, 2007
Legendary San Francisco Bay Area thrashers FORBIDDEN will reunite for several shows in 2008. Russ Anderson (vocals), Craig Locicero (guitar), Paul Bostaph (drums), Matt Camacho (bass) and Glen Alvelais (guitar) will bring something that so many of their peers, old-school fans and especially the younger generation of fans that never got to see FORBIDDEN live have been asking for: a true FORBIDDEN reunion!
"We want to show everyone what we used to do was as relevant and powerful as anybody else of that era," Locicero said in a statement released to BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "The gravity of our influence is really dawning on us now and we're very humbled. We owe it in turn back to those who supported our influenced us in the past. We'll be concentrating mostly on 'Forbidden Evil' [1988] and 'Twisted into Form' [1990] material to give the people what they want. The time is right and it's gonna be a lot of fun. 2008 will also be the 20th anniversary for the release 'Forbidden Evil'. It'll be VERY HEAVY and we're all excited to get started."
Added drummer Paul Bostaph (ex-SLAYER, TESTAMENT): "Though out the years I've been asked about FORBIDDEN by many people. Fans and friends alike have been wanting to see us play live again. I'm very happy to see this become a reality! I've been honored to play in some great bands. To play with Craig, Glenn, Matt and Russ (a truly great vocalist) again will be a longtime wish come true. I hope FORBIDDEN fans get a kick outta this as much as I will!"
FORBIDDEN is looking to book one Bay Area show for late January early February and look into some festivals in Europe, Japan and Australia starting in late May. These will all be exclusive gigs and there are no plans for a full-fledged tour, at least not in the immediate future. Locicero says, "We'll put our blood and guts into it and give it all we've got! Get ready to have your heads ripped off, motherfuckers!!!"

The word "legendary" gets used way too much. Forbidden kick ass, but that doesn't make them legendary. Blabbermouth seems to think that every band over 10 years old qualifies as legendary. They did the same thing yesterday with At War.

Forbidden has some great guitar work but it was their shitty lyrics that did them in. They had some of the worst lyrics ever (even by Heavy Metal standards).

Man, the vocals, the solo in Through Eyes Of Glass is one of metal's best moments. To those who question Forbidden's brilliance: I'm forcing myself not to act immature and say mean things. I rarely feel that way, but this band is very special to me! But we need not apologize for what we like or dislike!

Russ is a vocalist on a par with Halford in his heyday
IMO Paul Bostaph's best work ever was on Twisted into Form.
These guys are astounding live.
'Saw them around '91 with Death Angel and Sanctuary.
...alas those days are gone !
Release another album gentlemen !!!!!

that I was the first guy to ever hear of them in NY. Me and a buddy back in high school discovered Forbidden Evil and he bought it just for the cover. No one else knew of them but we changed that. I remember Chalice of Blood sawed my head off from that first drum hit.
Emo kids and 14 year old Dragonforce fans all observe, this band is the real deal. No offence intended to either category but do your homework.

I need to pull my Forbidden CDs out of mothballs and give 'em a listen. It's been a long time!!!!
WHAT I REMEBER MOST ABOUT ULTIMATE REVENGE 2, WAS THE CHICK IN FRONT ROW BANGIN AWAY AND GETTING MOWED OVER BY A STAGE DIVER, I FORGOT IF IT WAS DURING DEATH OR DARK ANGEL'S SET?
FORBIDDEN DID A KILLER VERSION OF JUDAS PRIEST'S, VICTIM OF CHANGES (a.k.a. Wiskey Woman.)
ON FOOT IN HELL...

I've hoped and prayed for this to manifest. If you don't make it to the Northwest then my son and I will be flying in to the East Bay Area to to see this. No Joke, I will fork up a few hundred dollars easy to see this.
Forbidden are truly gods of metal and your loyal fans appreciate this more than you could possibly imagine.
Truly one of the best bands of all time.
