Guitar Solo (Zakk Wylde)... Doesn't the audience hear enough artificial harmonics without a full-blown showcase of them?

I should have gone...Ozzy never breaks out the classics 'Paranoid' and 'Iron Man!' What was I thinking?

Great show, Zombie had the stage show the explosions and sounded great. John 5 is a great guitarist and certainly does enjoy spitting. Drummer excellent, Piggy on bass great. Rob sounds and moves great. Ozzy sounded better than at Ozzfest, must be rested and ready. Zakk was great up to and through solo then lost it...falling over and imitating Nigel Tufnel in Spinal Tap playing from his back, quite well, while three guys tried to figure out how to upright him. He played some unexpected little solos as Ozzy lipped "what the fu_k is he doing?" and looked pissed. Ozzy just tried harder and did an excellent job. Note: Please never make me hear Mama I'm Coming Home again!

Totally agreed man, I can't believe he played Fire In The Sky...I bet he hasn't played that in forever!

I have a few questions about the show. Did Ozzy have the same parody videos and intro as Ozzfest and what was his stage show like ? was it just the video screen and logo or did he add anything like pyro or whatever ? and are you sure Zombie didn't play Supercharger Heaven ? thats my favorite Zombie song

Nothing off of Diary of a Madman?? You've got to be kidding me. Scrap the stuff off the new album. Scrap the Sabbath songs (especially IRON MAN and PARANOID)....i'm tired of seeing sabbath do those songs let alone ozzy solo. It was so refreshing to see the heaven and hell show and not hear Iommi and Geezer play those songs. OK i can deal with one or maybe two sab songs, but 5?? C'mon Ozzy...

he might as well just lip synch instead of actually singing, when he actually sings, you can hear his horrible voice against the backing tapes.....

Thanks man, sounds like a great show

Ozzy has 3 songs on the set list that start with "I Don't".

Cannot wait till i get to see this tour. Long live ozzy \m/

I cannot believe he is playing that song, and that is my favorite song on No Rest for the Wicked.
I say take away Iron Man, a song off of Black Rain, and I Don't want to Chane the World....
And add a few more classics from Bark at the Moon, Ultimate Sin and No Rest for the Wicked...hmmmm like...
Rock n Roll Rebel, Lightning Strikes, and Bloodbath in Paradise
At least he added Fire in the Sky which I love....
I know people working on the tour, so I will be back stage at MSG...

To think I almost didn't buy a ticket! Ozzy setlist is actually quite good. More Sabbath than usual, from when I seen videos and the Ozzmosis tour twice. Awesome, Children Of the Grave and Into The Void. I'm happy to see Fire In The Sky in there also. Rob's setlist is kick ass too. I think Rob should join Ozzy on Children though, since he did it on Nativity In Black! Can't wait till Oct. 27th in Winnipeg! First time I see Zakk with Ozzy to. He skipped Winnipeg from 1982 until 1996. Now it seems to be a regular stop when he tours. I only got to see Joe Holmes, who gives a shit!

Ozzy's voice is processed to the max, with doubling and also harmonized, but there may be a recorded track too.
COMMENT | The sound was horrid at that place! posted by : RockMyMonkey.com 10/19/2007 8:57:06 PM
There were songs I have heard a million times that I couldn't even recognize. There was tons of lip syncing going on. No one should ever wear headband's on stage, not even Ozzy. Zakk was way too drunk to perform. Rob Zombie's stage show and theatrical props, pyro, and effects were the best part of the show. I don't think Rob's vocals were lip synced though because he sounded very weak like his voive was shot already...first day of the tour.

Ozzy sounded dreadful at Ozzfest. It was so obvious there was a backing track, cause the backing track sounded like vintage Ozzy, but Ozzy's actual singing sounded sooo flat. And of course he started off the show with his classic line "My doctor told me not to play this show cause I have a throat infection, but I said fuck you I'm playing it anyway!!!". People still go apeshit over that line even though he says it all the time. You don't have a throat infection, don't make excuses for your tired vocal cords. Just hang it up.
DIO!!!

Backing tracks, and FUCK lipsyncing.
DEATH TO FALSE METAL!
That said, I hope all of you out there have a WONDERFUL Friday Night!

I'm a fan of both Dio and Ozzy (in his prime). But these days...he's just not getting it done anymore. It's kind of embarassing to be an Ozzy fan.

It's a shame a talented guitarist like Zakk has to spend 90% of a show playing Tony Iommi and Randy's parts....

Into the Void and Children of the Grave-fuck yes. Master of Reality rules.
COMMENT | posted by : mike57 10/20/2007 1:27:28 AM
I always loved Ozzy and still do, but singing with a backing track defeats the purpose of seeing a band play live. Not dissing Ozzy, he can do whatever he wants. But when I go to a show, I would like to hear the band play, not some track of music or recorded vocals.
COMMENT | A good sign! posted by : Andersonic 10/20/2007 1:37:42 AM
Ozzy finally realizes that he needs to feature some other songs, maybe he'll do some more. What about Into The Void people!
Ozzy is back...once again!

It's not like zakk can compete with Tony or Randy in the talent department. But having said that the best Zakk Wylde era stuff was neglected e.g. Hellraiser and Bloodbath in Paradise
COMMENT | posted by : beatleguise 10/20/2007 6:02:47 AM
Rob's set list looks a lil too short...i think Rob should come out and do Children Of THe Grave with Ozzy since he used to do it live back in the day as the encore song
COMMENT | posted by : lordpigeon 10/20/2007 7:13:47 AM
At least there's been some effort to change up Ozzy's setlist, but if I recall correctly, around 2002/2003 (can't remember the exact year but not too long ago) he was playing setlists loaded with Sabbath songs and Fire in the Sky so it's nothing too special really.
I'd love to see Waiting for Darkness, Secret Loser, Demon Alcohol and I Just Want You get into the setlist sometime but it probably won't happen.
COMMENT | No Diary is not acceptable! posted by : M.E.262 10/20/2007 10:59:19 AM
Diary is the best album Oz ever recorded. Over The Mountain, Flying High Again & Believer should all be staples in his set. They should be played as surely as Crazy Train is going to be played.
Under no circumstances should anything from Ozzmosis, No Rest for The Wicked, No More Tears or Down To Earth be played before these three classics.
And...enough with the fuckin ballads, already! Nobody wants to hear that shit!
