GLENN DANZIG Falling Off Stage In Baltimore: Video Clip Posted Online

A short fan-filmed video clip of Glenn Danzig making his way back onto the stage after reportedly falling off while singing the song "How the Gods Kill" at the opening concert of the current DANZIG tour, on Tuesday (October 23) in Baltimore, Maryland, can be viewed below. According to Rock N Roll Experience's Bob Suehs, who attended the concert, Glenn "was in a bad mood after the fall — he cut the show short and he nixed the MISFITS set with Doyle and was yelling at Todd Youth [guitar] the rest of the night telling him to slow down his playing. The story I was told from a security guard was that Glenn dislocated his shoulder, but I can't confirm that. However, he was hurt badly because he did not meet fans after the show... he ran directly to the bus and didn't come out." As previously reported, tonight's (October 25) DANZIG show at The Worcester Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts has been cancelled due to Glenn Danzig's shoulder injury. There is no word yet on a possible makeup date. Glenn reportedly sported an arm sling at last night's (October 24) concert in Philadelphia and commented from the stage that he was glad the MISFITS songs were short while performing the joint set with Doyle. It was also reported that Danzig looked in pain at various points during last night's show. DANZIG's current tour is in support of "The Lost Tracks of Danzig", the two-CD set that was released May 29, as well as Glenn's limited-edition book "Drukija, Contessa of Blood", loosely based on the legend of 17th century vampire Countess Elizabeth Bathory, and illustrated by long time collaborator Simon Bisley. "The Lost Tracks" is comprised of 26 previously unreleased tracks that span Danzig's entire career and were originally recorded during the band's seven-album "arc" that began with 1988's "Danzig".

Since Danzig really dislikes touring, I would doubt that he'll make up any missed dates. If you weren't in Baltimore or Philly, it sucks to be you. Danzig rocked!!

He started in philly late, about 10:45. He played until midnight which included a 4 song mini misfits set. Thats pretty late, especially for a weeknight. Couldn't tell if it was regular logistic crap or because of his shoulder. The performance itself was decent.

And you're not even trying to convince me, but let me enlighten you a little.
1. Danzig was kicked up the rear / beaten up by either Viv Campbell or Phil Collen for a reason. That reason - Danzig called Campbell's wife a 'fuckhead'. Is that good enough? Er, yes. Danzig was lucky to escape with an aching (fat) arse / black eye. Some men would have knocked him into next week.
2. Danzig was beaten up by Danny NSK ostensibly because the two of them had a dispute which Danzig stupidly turned physical. It was a stupid move, unquestionably, because he got beaten up in front of the whole world. But the NSK guy also stated that, earlier in the day, Danzig had asked the wife of one of the NSKers whether she was 'pregnant or just fat(?)'. That made the subsequent knocking out more severe. (And Danzig's fat enough to wear a fucking girdle!)
3. Danzig has a name for hitting women at gigs. Cry all you want - no one gets that rep undeservedly. (He has also been seen hitting boys aged 14, usually for wearing Misfits shirts.)
4. A pattern is emerging, isn't it? He can only fight woemn and kids; men always pulverise him. With justification.
5. His music is no better or worse than that of NSK. His singing is no better than that fat thug's. The very short Danzig has simply used bad metal to make himself look tough. He has ultimately made himself the laughing-stock of metal.
6. His lyrics are abusive, promoting the killing of little girls, according to Skulls and others. Some people with consciences resent that sort of thing.
7. The beatings that Danzig has received won't be forgotten until he stops acting like a failed playground bully in his mid-50s. He is very sad and depressed, and therefore weakened sufficiently to render him unable to do metal.
Got it? Good.

I've been going to concerts for over 20 years - I've seen Danzig 14 times. There is no one - NO ONE - who gets down and sings and hi-fives and rocks with the fans like Danzig. As far as being macho, misogynistic, ill-tempered, etc. - yep, all true. But I've never seen him hit anyone or do anything aggressive against a fan (but he does get pissed at people who sneak in cameras). Bottom line - his music is heavy and rockin and his live shows have more energy than just about anyone I've seen. You've gotta respect the fact that he does things his own way and is still rockin' 30 yrs in the business.

(I like Kyashan's idea that you're Dungzig, but you can't be. You can spell quite well (although 'credence' is correct), which Dungzig can't do. And he won't admit to having been punched, insisting the NSK people "edited" that video. Riiiight!)
Study the video again, and you will see that the thug hits Dungzig right in the mouth, then hits him in the eye as he falls. NSK falls to the side, but catches the falling (and twisting) Dungzig with a backswipe. Dungzig can be heard screaming "Oh NNNNO!" in an effeminate voice. Knocked the fuck out, bleeding from the mouth, and sporting an advanced black eye - those constitute BEATEN UP (who said 'beat up'?). Or do you think Dungzig rejoiced in the luxury of his lie-down?
I wasn't in Germany when the Def Lep incident happened, but a friend witnessed it, and he told me that Danzig fell over when kicked, striking his nose on the soup-bowl. He cried, and ran off. Later, he performed a weak-voiced set, his eye blackened, and vaguely slagged off Def Lep from the stage. BEATEN UP.
There's a story that Dungzig was also dragged from the stage inside The Jockey Club, Newport (PA?), by an insulted fan, and was then, er, BEATEN UP. This was in Misfits days.
Then there's the incident that Dungzig wrote about in, I think, Towers of London. Haven't heard the song (can't stand his voice - sounds like a very weak Ian Astbury, and his pitching is off), but I gather the fool claims he was attacked by an entire police force. The truth is said to be that he was pounded into submission by a solitary cop. BEATEN UP.
Do your research and you'll also find stories that Phil Lynott (RiP) and a Baptist Minister are among other (laudable) BEATERS of Dungzig.
Oh, and you'll find that women often don't report abuse. They get shit from amoral lawyers. Were you really born yesterday? If so, happy birthday.
Kyashan - Did you know that several prominent Martial Arts people reckon Dungzig's lying about his fighting awards too? Heck, I wouldn't buy a used potato from that jerk.

I was at the Baltimore show. I saw the set list and it was played 100%. Although he didn't perform any Misfits tunes, I don't believe they intended on doing so. The show ended after an encore of 2 more songs and it was past midnight. Get well soon Glenn!
Doyle's performance (Gorgeous Frankenstein) made up for the show! Well done :) .
