OZZY OSBOURNE Concert Attendee Tased After Trying To Mosh

Travis Coleman of SiouxCityJournal.com reports that a teen was tased and arrested after allegedly fighting with officers during the OZZY OSBOURNE concert at Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa Sunday (November 4). The 16-year-old Sioux City boy was allegedly trying to start a mosh pit near the end of the show when security called Sioux City police to help remove the boy, said Lt. Marti Reilly. The three police officers tried to take hold of the boy, who was allegedly swinging his arms and being aggressive, Reilly said. After the officers told him to stop resisting and he refused, the boy was tased. One officer was slightly injured, Reilly said. The boy was charged with misdemeanor counts of interference with official acts, failure to obey a police officer and assault on a police officer.

Call me old, but I prefer headbanging. I think it's somehow more connected to the music.
I don't mind moshpits, but I stay away.
I've seen some stupid people who accidentaly hit girls during moshpits. If this guy was equally stupid I'm taking police side.

At a Darkness concert I went to, some jackasses tried to start a mosh pit. Some chick wound up having her extentions ripped out. Too Funny. Stay off the roids boys. one way... Hell & Back!

I'm surprised to see so much hate against moshing on a Metal board. I think that it properly expresses the aggression of the music. If you have the energy then go for it. If not, then stand to the side and bang your head. Both are equally fun to me.
The hardcore dancing stuff though is very assinine. I really hate it.

The question should be and the article doesn't address this is was the a ga show or were there seats if he was in a seating area than the guy deserves what he got. If it was a non seat ga show then thats a different story.

i've seen that at shows...it's alot different then moshing. Kinda neat that someone is going to get their rocks off doing that, but they gotta be careful cause they could easily give someone a foot in the head. it's more dangerous then moshing that i've seen. probably a rock concert might not be the best place for that.

Ozzy was playing "Mama I'm Coming home" at the time. Dumbass. But seriously, my issue with moshing these days is that people don't know when or how to do it. Moshing generally fits more with Punk and Thrash metal, and was more of a community thing. I actually remember getting my glasses knocked off in a White Zombie Pit many years ago and the crowd scattered instantly. The pit restarted once I got 'em back unharmed. to be honest, I think Pantera fucked it up for everybody because they introduced the insane, violent form to the masses. Now it seems like every hard rock band as a bunch of roid freaks trying to kill one another. Moshing at Ozzy, Motley Crue etc. just doesn't fit. The asshole I saw at Tool this summer that tried to start moshing during 'Wings for Marie", now he deserved it.

Security personnel at another recent hardcore tased one would-be pit-ninja for allegedly trying to mosh. The teen denied the accusation, explaining, "In all the excitement, several concertgoers had knocked a lot of dimes and quarters out of the pockets of their hoodies. I was just trying to pick up some change!"

Moshing is gay! Nothing is more cowardly or stupid than running in a circle (counterclockwise), punching anyone in your way, then running like a little pussy.
Yeah, that's not what it's SUPPOSED to be, but that's what it IS.
If you're going to punch someone, don't run. Be a MAN and take the consequences.

i was at the show, he tried to start a mosh pit in one of the private owner's boxes at the first financial arena. he knocked over the one dudes fresca and tonic water so they called security on him. when the police tried to escort him out he started singing hatebreed and was doing the infamous 'double windmill' resulting in his eviction from the show

Moshing hasn't been cool since the early 90's.
Now it's always a bunch of those jagoffs that like to throw bottles, or dirt, when they're not in the pit.
Anybody that would pay $30 to punch, or be punched in the middle of a concert is in fact, a jagoff.

I first read about this on WWW.GLOBALGRIND.COM, and I think that at a concert it's cool to dance around to the music n all that good stuff, but moshing isn't something that is only gonna affect the people involved. Others at the concert nearby may get knocked over, and badly hurt, it's not like that hasn't happened b4. N what an idiot tryin to talk back to the police n act like a fool, of course their gonna get ya ass back. At least he was only tased and not beat or shot... probably because it was at a rock concert, not a rap one!
