OBITUARY Guitarist Says He Wrote One Song On New SEBASTIAN BACH Album
- Nov. 9, 2007
OBITUARY guitarist Ralph Santolla (also ex-DEICIDE, ICED EARTH, SEBASTIAN BACH, DEATH) has issued the following update:
"I wrote a song on the new SEBASTIAN BACH record, 'Angel Down', which is coming out soon. The song is called 'You Bring Me Down', and you can check out audio samples at Amazon.com. I haven't heard the song or the record yet. I'm curious to see if he changed any of my music or lyrics. He changed the title from 'Down', for some reason, but I heard about that and registered the song under both names! It's a STARE song, from the band I'm working on with Johnny Leannarts (I'll call him Johnny Chromatic over my dead body!!!).
"Johnny doesn't seem to get much mention in all the postings about Sebastian online, but I hope this record changes that. He's an amazing guitarist, a great singer, and writes killer songs. When we finally get our STARE record out, people will be blown away by him. I'm glad I had the good sense to pluck him from obscurity and get him in that band! He's too busy hanging out with Axl [Rose] to thank me, though (Johnny, that is)."

So when is the Deicide gonna come out with their new album ?
Isn't sorta weird to be recording as "former" band member..but only HAS to record with them due contract obligations..?

Maybe Axl Rose will sing on the next Deicid album?

Even though Alan West has problems due to alcohol..
His still better than Ralph!
The new Obituary album is basically rhythm tracks with guitar solos...no lead guitar at all..I was very dissappointed with their new album...

Hey Ralph!! i know you read this stuff some times, i saw you post on some thing once, and im wondering if "you bring me down" is sabbath inspired a little bit, from the sample i heard, one riff sounds like it could have been on "dehumanizer" to me, dont know bout the whole song yet though,

RALPH SANTOLLA: 'I'm Not Playing With SEBASTIAN BACH' - July 14, 2005
Guitarist extraordinaire Ralph Santolla (DEATH, DEICIDE, SEBASTIAN BACH, ICED EARTH) has sent the following statement ot BLABBERMOUTH.NET:
"Just to set the record straight — I'm not playing with Sebastian Bach [anymore]. When I joined DEICIDE, it was apparent that I had too many things going on at the same time. DEICIDE has kept me pretty busy, and has a lot of things on the horizon. I also have my band with Johhny Lenaerts, STARE, that I've been working on for the last two years, plus the EX CATHEDRA project, and at some point, a new instrumental album. Something had to give. Steve DiGiorgio, Johhny Lenaerts, and Bobby Jarzombek from Sebastian's band are like my brothers. I'm the one that got Steve and Johnny in that band. When Metal Mike joined, I was thinking, 'We're gonna have a shredfest.' But that also would have meant that Johnny would have been in only when Mike wasn't available because of HALFORD. So I had to make a choice based on a lot of factors, and I had to choose DEICIDE. There's no hard feelings on my part. Sebastian really does love metal, it's not a front. And he can sing like crazy. If it were up to him, he'd drop a lot of the SKID ROW songs and do five records that sound like 'Screaming for Vengeance'. But a lot of his fans wanna hear those tunes, so he does it for them. I may still have some involvement with his new record, we'll see."

Yes! Sabbath! I have tons of Sabbathy kind of stuff, I just never figured out what to do with it.
