Report: AXL ROSE 'Fought To Save His Home' From Wildfire

KCAL-TV (Channel 9), an independent station in Los Angeles, California owned by CBS Corporation, is reporting that GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose has plenty to be thankful for this Thanksgiving weekend, but it was a close call. The wildfire in Southern California that left six firefighters hurt and destroyed dozens burnt his roof and all around his expansive property. Rose's assistant Beta Lebeis, who lives on the property, says the rock legend fought to save his home. "He helped a lot," she said. "He did a lot. He was with the hose everywhere. Then the firetruck came in and locked us. So then they told us, 'Just close the garage doors and just go back in. There's nothing you can do,' because it was like an inferno outside." A KCAL-TV report on the Malibu wildfire — which includes shots of Axl's home and a short interview with Rose's assistant — can be viewed below.

....that the masters for the forthcoming album "Chinese Democracy" were burned in the fire, so he has to start from scratch on said album. The record company for Sham & Roses new album has now been pushed back until the year 2108.

Friggen moron! The idea of the story is that the bigger-than-life Axl Rose is actually human and did what he could to save his home. I'm betting most people would think Axl would set up a lawn chair outside and watch his shit blaze to the ground.
And more to the point, how do you get one someone for trying to fend off disaster? Whether it's Axl Rose or Joe Shmo!

oh forgosh sakes...it's natural for people to want to save their own homes first....
and also, it still does help other people, if axl's house had burned, then his insurance compmany would have cut him a huge check, which depletes that company's fire fund, and overall raises rates for everyone in SoCal

Why does everybody rip on this guy constantly? Yeah, he has some personality issues, but fuck, who doesn't? Everyday I come here for two reasons, to see what the hell is going on in the World of Metal (that is debatable in about 30% of the stories) and to laugh at the remarks at the bottom of the stories. This thread had me rolling! Especially the one about how long it will take for Sebastian to post a story about how "Axl fights fires like a Mother Fucker". The one above me was pretty good too and there were a couple of others.

Fucking Los Angeles, man. Have you ever noticed that any time a rich person from Malibu or Bel Aire or whatever gets interviewed on TV they have do their their little acting bit? That lady at the beginning, trying to look all choked up. Then you've got the rich guy thanking the firemen who aren't getting shit out of the Bush tax cuts (for the rich), and the firemen just walk by, because if they were in line for a table at a restaurant, any of these homeowners would get seated before them and not give a damn. Hey guys no fire is funny, I dont care who you are. I myself has experienced a fire. Axl, Im very happy that your house wasnt burnt down like some of the others, more so I very pleased that nothing happened to you. Still love ya, cant wait for your next CD, waiting very patiently.
