VAN HALEN: Official Ringtones Available
- Nov. 26, 2007
|
|
|
On the heels of its heralded North American tour, VAN HALEN has announced the release of official ringtones and ringback tones for the first time. Among the 15 official VAN HALEN ringers available are the Grammy-nominated, #1 smash hit "Jump", one of the most famous guitar solos of all time "Eruption", and the iconic rock classics "Ain't Talkin' Bout Love", "Runnin' With The Devil", "Jamie's Cryin'", "Unchained", "Panama" and "Hot For Teacher". VAN HALEN ringtones are available now by searching "Van Halen" on mobile phones from all major carriers or by sending the text message "VH" to 74466. For the next four weeks, AT&T Mobility will be offering exclusive versions of several of the VAN HALEN ringtones and answer tones to their subscribers.
VAN HALEN redefined rock 'n' roll in the late '70s and early '80s and is arguably one of the greatest bands of all time. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year and have sold more than 75 million records worldwide. VAN HALEN is one of only seven bands in history that have released two albums that sold more than 10 million copies each.
VAN HALEN official ringtones:
"Runnin' With The Devil" "Eruption" "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" "Jamie's Cryin'" "Dance The Night Away" "Somebody Get Me A Doctor" "Beautiful Girls" "And The Cradle Will Rock" "Everybody Wants Some" "Mean Street" "Unchained" "So This Is Love?" "Jump" "Panama" "Hot For Teacher"

I'm tired of ringtones. Ringtones are not art. Ringtones cannot write a symphony or paint a masterpiece. They can't dance under a moonlit sonata with the most beautiful woman in the world and then she gets pregnant. It's commercial product AND I FOR ONE WILL NOT CONTRIBUTE to the downfall of culture and decency. I use a simple, traditional bleep-bleep-bloop ringtone and that makes me a good person.

Is Michael Anthony gonna get any royalties off these things? Where are the Van Hagar songs? No Right Now? I'm sure Gary Cherone would like some ringtone royalties. Careful Ed, you don't want to turn into KI$$, do you?

Make them yourself for shits sake!! Ringtones are THE biggest money scam ever invented!! You get 30 seconds of a song for what? $1.99!!! That would end up costing nearly $30.00 for all 15 of those ringtones!! If your paying for ringtones your retarded.

yes, M.A. is getting paid. so is S.H. go to vanhalenstore.com they still sell all of VH members schwag. Mad anthony's hot sauce... Sammy Hagar and the "Waboritas" dvd's etc...
David Lee Roth's stuff HAS ALWAYS BEEN AVAILABLE ON THE STORE SITE TOO...
Eddie may be a bastard sometimes, but he has never cockblocked any VH member's right to "Make money..."
AS FOR RINGTONES... I work for the biggest cellco in the us... ringtone and "Ringback" revenue is starting to out gross actual cd or song sales... many artists make as much from ringtones and ringbacks as they do from the sale of CD's.... and I would anticipate that to out GROSS cd's and online music sales in the next decade.. .

whether this band was only in it for the money, well, there you go.
and stevetrooper, I think you're wrong about Ed never cockblocking anyone else's right to make money. It's no secret that Ed was pissed off at Hagar's promoting Cabo Wabo cantina, and succeeding mightily at it I might add, after Ed sold his interest in it back to Sammy at a time the club was losing money. It was certainly a factor in the tension that led to Hagar's ouster. I would consider that an indirect cockblock at least.

Sorry there are all Van Halen ring tones availavble, but the Roth lovers out there are only promoting those song because of this money suckking tour. And that is the only resaen. So bitchslap yourself for Eddie, because that is what he is doing to his fans again, by excluding all Van Halen tunes. And guess what Micheal Anthony isn't getting a dime, he has been excluded as well from all royalties.

I think we have fthegop back, with the record sales thing again.
Betorama, you just said it yourself, CD sales are down, dah they have been since the late 80's, it's called the INTERNET.
Plus the fact that there have been more bands out there since the middle 80's, than back in the 70's and early 80's, so people buy other music instead of just having 6 or 7 bands they have 60 or 70 bands to choose from.
Oh yeh you forgot to mention that every CD or LP that Hagar sang with Van Halen on went to #1. none of which DLR sang on went too that spot, bummer huh.

Help, Sgt. Hartman !
But, I didn't say that Van Halen sales were low during the Hagar years you did.
Sales were high during the Hagar years and they were even more popular than before and even now, that was the point I was making, and again I'm not a pro, but I don't know if this tour has made more than $55 MILLION yet?
And well you put the words in your own mouth they are out to make money and that is it, not music and like I have heard from other Van Halen fans, were is the new material for the fans old and new. There is none, just a quick buck on remastered old crap and the same boring sets date after date.

You may be onto something with bertorama being fthegop's clone only he's not nearly annoying. I've been wondering whatever happened to fthegop. I miss that guy. I'm afraid he might be dead or something because I can't imagine anything short of that keeping him from being all over these message boards during this tour.
there are many arguments out there about why record sales don't necessarily reflect the popularity of VH with Roth v. Hagar. Not just the fact, the Roth catalog has been around a lot longer and during a time that records were more popular (not to mention the fact that cds became popular after Hagar joined the band so VH fans who had already bought Roth albums on vinyl went and replaced them with cds). But it's what the Roth apologists all cling too while at the same time dissing the fact that no Roth records ever reached #1 on the charts while every Hagar album did. If it had been the other way around, you'd be singing a very different tune. I just wish the Roth fans would delight in the fact he's back in the band and accept the fact that VH remained every bit as much a rock powerhouse with Hagar at the mike, even if you didn't like the guy.

I considered that fthegop may have been banned as he did on occassion get particularly nasty and even threatened physical violence toward a woman on here. However, that guy was such a huge fan of Roth who's sole purpose in life was to inject himself in all things VH to trash Hagar. If he had been banned, he would have re-registered under a new name to get back here. If necessary, he would have had a sex change operation and registered as a woman so nobody would suspect it was him. That's how crazed he was. And that's why I miss him.
