ATREYU Seeks Cure For Boredom While On The Road
- Dec. 2, 2007
|
|
Buzznet.com has posted more video footage from ATREYU's "Tour Diary" series. The band documented its recent U.S. headline tour and the latest clip, entitled "Cure for Boredom", can be viewed below. ATREYU's new album, "Lead Sails Paper Anchor", sold 43,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release to debut at position No. 8 on The Billboard 200 chart. ATREYU recorded "Lead Sails Paper Anchor" this past spring with producer John Feldmann who worked with the band to create their most infectious, ambitious and musically challenging disc yet. While the band's juxtaposition of hardcore-influenced chaos and rock-influenced melody is still present, the gulf between the two styles is diminished, making the passages flow in a smoother and more naturalistic manner. "Lead Sails Paper Anchor" was mixed by Andy Wallace ( NIRVANA, SLIPKNOT, LINKIN PARK).

Based on that headline alone, I expect to see a lot of quality posts in this thread. Here's something to get everyone started.
"Listeners seek cure for boredom while listening to Atreyu"
C'mon people, get going!

You really consider Atreyu to be emo? I disagree but whatever, you have your opinion. Yea, let's see some good comments here, it's like blood in the water.

Actually I consider anything that isn't brutal face-grinding death metal to be emo, but then I'm a hardcore gore-grind nutjob from the 60's protest era so don't mind me.

Anything that John Feldmann touches turns immediately to shit. What happens when shit turns to shit? Does it become food, edible once again? Hell no. It may liquify and wriggle a bit. But shit it remains. Shitty shitty shit.

Atreyu should send things for the Troops to do to cure boredom and maintain sanity with all the money they have. Maybe that'll keep them occupied.

came out way to soon after the last one, and this album is terrible, it sounds like it was just thrown together. i hope they take more time for the next one, or make this one their last.

I have no clue why so many successful artists claim boredom while on the road. Are you kidding me? Not only do you travel the world and see the world, you also play to thousands of screaming adoring fans most nights while on tour, you get to do absolutely nothing in between except drink, smoke, and play video games, yet so many bands whine of boredom.
And you know what? The bands that don't drink and party every night on the road do things like record music in their mobile studios, work on other projects or just have fun.
I'm not sure about all of you, but I'd gladly take the chance to be in a band and tour the globe if given the chance.
