SEX PISTOLS To Return To The Road And Release DVD

According to Reuters, the SEX PISTOLS will follow up their recent brief reunion tour of Britain by returning to the road next summer, guitarist Steve Jones said on Wednesday. Speaking on his Los Angeles radio show, Jones did not give any specifics, other than to say that the punk rock icons might play a charity show at London's Royal Albert Hall organized by THE WHO vocalist Roger Daltrey. After a break of several years, the SEX PISTOLS last month played five shows at London's Brixton Academy, and an arena show each in Manchester and Glasgow. Jones said two of the London concerts were recorded by producer Chris Thomas and shot by documentary filmmaker Julien Temple for a DVD.

It's funny how the whole punk movement was under the premise to break away from just being another sheep in the corporate rock world, but the Sex Pistols are the biggest scam ever. If you listened to the recording and had seen them live back then you knew they didn’t play all of the parts on the recording. They had lots of help. The biggest scam is all of the people who bought into the hype. People love to re-write history to make themselves important or cool. The New York Dolls have more creditability that the Sex Pistols and that's not saying much. Remember the comment that Eddie Vedder said that the Ramones were this generation's Beatles? If that is true than that explains why everyone lately has been making such shitty music.

They are talentless with nothing to say??? Compared to what?
Boney M, Rod Stewart ,Deep Purple ( I like them but i dont think they have to much to say) or any other of the Disco bands that was big back in the day. Have you even listen to the album? Bodies is just one of the best punk songs ever written.
They didn't play on the album?
Once again, watch the "Making of Never mind of bollocks" and you will see that all of the tracks was recorded with Steve Jones on guitar/bas and Paul Cook on drums.
But your right about one thing. It was a hype.
A bloody good hype that gave the music business a good kick in the bollocks and lay the ground for a completely new music scene. Without it most of the NWBH bands wouldn't be around. I think some of you need to turn your Warrant cd´s off and check the facts before you post something next time.

The thing I hate most about music is that starf*ckers will defend anything. If you really think about all music really sucks. Don't get me wrong I love listening to music, but can you really take any of this seriously ? It's all really a joke. It's called entertainment. It was never meant to be taken seriously. Reading this stuff on the internet is like listening to two retards argue about the color of the sky. Who cares anyhow.

Dont know why we would be dicussing Sex Pistols on this site , they are not a teeny booper metal band, there from the 70's most of the dicks on this site were not even born...Most , I said.
Punk for me is Lou Reed, Velvet UnderGround, The Ramones, Iggy,Anti nowhere leagues,Stiff little fingers,The Exploited , the Clash, the Damned, Generation X, and Souxsie and the Banshees
and the Sex pistols are apart of the Family tree

always have and always will suck!I was around back when they came out so I can say without a doubt the worst "band" ever!didn't know of anybody who liked them then or now except critics or people with saftey pins in their faces. they were just jealous because they couldn't write a hit record if their lives depended on it and face no matter what anyone says that's why you play music to get rich and famous and have hit singles. if you don't well it's because your not" commercial" which is code for I have no talent and can't write a song anyone cares about. but if by chance you do come up with a song people like say sedated or rock the casbagh that's not commercial or selling out just great music right? I like my music with melody and a catchy chorus like the hair bands and music from the 70's stuff that still sounds good today. can you realy say that about the sex pistols with a straight face?so go ahead and see them at your local 7-11 parking lot and I will see my bands at venues that hold up to 3000 or more.oh and since they are so ant-establishment I take it they won't be making any money on this tour right? and any money that they do make will go to something other than their own personal wealth right? if that's the case then why do you have to pay to see them? yea that's real rebelious making money to prove we are not like them. they are a joke and so is their music,I fail to see how they influenced anypne other than other no talent bands.I don't care that people in other mainstream acts praise them but sound nothing like them it's all about the pr. they suck and always will

I'll make sure I buy the dvd and go see them live again.
I love how they still piss young stupid metalers and people in general off, they didn't lose their touch with times.
I swear these people here going on about how "they can't play" "they are talentless" sound exactly like their grandads hehehehe.
They think talent means "technique" when technique is nothing but a mere tool to express your ideas. If you don't have anything to say and can't write a decent tune, you truly are talentess even if you can sweep pick at 450 bpms. Metalers will never get it, the Pistols are way more talented than 99% metal bands, they know how to write a good catchy tune and meanigful lyrics, hence their staying power, if you don't get it, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM AND THE PROBLEM IS YOU! :)

1: Not everyone is as shallow as you, tons of underground bands write music for the sake of it because they enjoy doing it and playing live, and not to "get famous and make lotsa money oh oh oh oh oh"
2: The Sex Pistols had three hit singles in the top 10 in 1977, a number one album the same year, and their current re-releases ALL charted as well, 30 years later.
So they had all the "success" that you're talking about, and clearly not only "people with safety pins in their faces" like them, hehe.

The Pistols played on the records, it's all basic stuff, anyone can play it (They had lots of help, yeah right), you don't know what you're talking about and live they're pretty tight, nowadays especially, not that it takes much of course.
And you talk of "records" when they've only released one: "Never Mind the Bollocks" (and the Great Rock N Roll Swindle soundtrack but that wasn't the Pistols anymore, Lydon was out of the band by then). You're another clueless twat.
