SLIPKNOT To Tour With DISTURBED And MUDVAYNE?
- Dec. 7, 2007
|
|
|
According to HardDrive Radio, SLIPKNOT will tour this summer with DISTURBED and MUDVAYNE. No further details are currently available.
SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison recently offered up a tentative timeline for the recording of the band's fourth major label album, saying that the group would begin this fall and get into the studio by January of 2008, with the CD likely to arrive in the spring. Jordison then told Launch that SLIPKNOT will most likely return to the road even before the disc is out. "We'll probably start touring a month or so before the album comes out, kind of the same way we did the Jagermeister Tour before 'Vol. 3' came out," he said. "So we'll do something like that as well and we're looking at right now doing some European festivals next year, but nothing's in stone yet. You know, there's still some things to be worked out, but the main thing is, you know, the fans should know that there will be another SLIPKNOT record."
Jordison told the U.K.'s Kerrang! magazine that SLIPKNOT's follow-up to 2004's "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)" will be "heavy as fuck," adding that it will also be "just as weird and as experimental" as that album.
Jordison spent much of this year as the touring drummer for KORN.
Two other members of SLIPKNOT, singer Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root, have been on the road with their other group, STONE SOUR.

I first heard of Slipknot in 2001 when Iowa came out, and i havent stopped liking them since. I just admire the ability to carry out a mega monster band like that with 9 fucking members lol. There musis is kick ass anyway too. Im sure the 4th record will blow away all the rest, just like V. 3 did to the previous ones before them. Maggot 4 ever!

At the risk of sounding like a stereotypical poster on this site, Slipknot REALLY sucks bad -- potentially the worst band of the last ten years, and that's some stiff competition. Years later, I'm still bitter about the hour and a half of life this freak show stole from me at Ozzfest while I waited for Black Sabbath to start.

I tend to agree with a previous poster, if I have some extra scratch, I might check it out. I've seen Slipknot and Mudvayne, don't really have a desire to see Disturbed. But the white trash will be out in full force for this show, I'm sure. Probably a bunch of people get trampled too, cause they'll trip over their stupid ass baggy Nu-metal pants, with all the chains and zippers.

I'd go for Slipknot and Mudvayne. I don't mind going against the grain and admitting to liking these two bands. Hell, I'd even sit through Disturbed to see them.
I haven't had the opportunity as most of you to see many hard rock/metal bands so this would be a cool little show to experience, if only for Slipknot and Mudvayne.
I saw Staind, Finger Eleven, Buckcherry, etc at different festivals they have here in the summer so a little Disturbed would not be so bad.

I'd say bad Nu-metal is dying out. Sipknot, Mudvayne, Disturbed, etc all still sell quite well, even in todays fickle music market, so I would hardly call that dying out. Of course the mentioned bands are all changing their styles slightly to get better airplay and mainstream acceptance, but I'd say tehre are easily still two or three albums left in each band. I mean after almost ten years, you have to admit that it has been here awhile now. Grunge died out with Kurt, thankfully for the most part, but nu-metal never had that blow to stop it.

Yeah, but what's the appeal of the baggy pants? They're big enough to hang glide with, they completely obscure your feet, which I would imagine is a tripping hazard, they have all those useless zippers and chains? I agree, be yourself, but what's the point of those type of pants if 1000 other people are wearing them and they look ridiculous. Oh well...

Thanks Crackhead. Why don't you go to Hot Topic and steal a shirt! This will be a good show though, don't hate. Slipknot and Mudvayne weren't fucking Limp Bizquick or P.O.D. type nu metal. They had great agression, complex arrangements and original playing. They just unfairly get lumped into a movement that happened at that time but if they came out now, you'd be shitting and you know it! Fucking Determined!
