good to see machine head still going for another round of US dates... I hadn't listened to the Blackening during their spot opening up for LoG and Trivium and so now it'll be good for those of us to check them out after hearing (and loving) the album

Must be a U.S. tour. MH better play a full set too. Jesus, i thought it was bad when MH opened for Lambtera and Trivtallica.
I don't know why Machine Head doesn't get enough support in the US. If this tour was any other place, like anywhere in Europe MH would definately be headling.
A band that's been on the scene for damn near 14 years paving the way for most of these bullshit bands, opening for a band that hasn't even been around for 1 year and only has 1 album. What's next, rabie shots for the Easter Bunny.

Why isn't Machine Head headlining? It isn't rocket science. Hellyeah moves more units. That's it. Nothing more. Concert promoters don't care who the better band is. They only care about which band is more popular. And that's easy to know. It's the band that moves the most units. In the case of the 4 bands on this bill, it's Hellyeah. 14 years versus 1? Doesn't matter. One album versus a whole catalog of albums? Who cares? If you want Machine Head to headline, then buy more CD's.

MH definitely should be headlining, nothing against Hellyeah, they're good for what they are, but they have no business as the main act for this tour. MH has paid their dues, put out countless albums, and have a much better fanbase. The worst part about this...we'll only get to see probably 7-8 songs because Machine Fucking Head has 8 and 10 min songs on The Blackening. We're getting fucked here. Love ya Vinnie, but man up and offer the headline to the established band, I'd rather see a longer MH set than a longer Hellyeah set. I have come down on Hellyeah a bit since they brought Bob Zilla in on bass, that guy is a total douche bag. I see him at shows in Dallas all the time and he thinks his shit don't stink. That tool is riding Vin's coattails all the way.

It doesn't matter how long Machine Head has paid their dues, how many albums they have out or how great their fanbase is. Or even whether they are a better band. Their fanbase isn't moving units like Hellyeah is. Why do you think Linkin Park headlines major tours? They fucking blow. And their fanbase is 75% chicks and frat assholes. But they sell shit loads of CD's. That's just the way it is. Dues don't play into it.

Ankla is radio rock? Pull your fucking head out of your ass.

Ankla is one of the best up-and-coming bands today. Their album is incredible and their live sets are fucking crazy and full of energy.

10 years later, Nonpoint is still kicking all kinds of ass. They put on one of the best live shows ever.

I can't vouch for Hell Yeah, since I'm not a fan nor have I seen them live, but I'm sure they will be entertaining.

it all comes down to how wel there cd is selling yell yeah moved more units. right. and thats why there headlining.

Machine head obviously accepted this tour they could just have easily just did a headlining tour but they wouldn't be exposed to as many people then anyway. So maybee this helps machine head get more exposure and sell more cd's and healine the next tour like this.

Think of it this way, MH fans: They are playing in front of more people. If they really do blow Hellyeah off the stage, then people will know. Maybe they gain a few fans, move a few more CD's and headline next time.

MH will most definitely blow everyone else off of the stage. I saw them at House of Blues Dallas (weird cuz I heard they cancelled MH in some other cities) and they fucking ruled. At the very least maybe we can look forward to some kind of Vinnie Paul joining MH for Aesthetics of Hate or Rob joining Hellyeah for a song. And in response to the people saying it will be good to be exposed to larger crowds, any real metal fan already knows this is one of the albums of the year, its a toss up between MH, TON, Down, and Bloodsimple.

It's always better to be exposed to a larger crowd. And not all true metal fans will agree with your list. Music is subjective. Look at it this way: They won't lose any fans, but they may gain some. Which is why, of course, they are doing the tour.
