LED ZEPPELIN: BONNAROO Rumors Heat Up Once Again - Dec. 31, 2007
According to Mirror.co.uk, LED ZEPPELIN — who staged a triumphant "one-off" gig at the O2 this month — will be the headline act at the Bonnaroo festival in the U.S. next year. The festival runs from June 12 to 15 in Manchester, Tennessee — and if all goes smoothly, the band may even hit the road and tour.

An "insider" told Mirror.co.uk: "This is the news that will drive their fans absolutely wild. They have been bombarding their website to get back together for good but only Robert Plant wasn't keen to commit. Now he's had a change of heart and if it goes well they are also talking about touring."

Nashville's NBC affiliate WSMV-TV reported earlier in the month that Plant and bluegrass star Alison Krauss will perform at the Bonnaroo festival next June to promote their collaborative CD, "Raising Sand". In addition to the "Raising Sand" material, they'll reportedly perform songs from their catalogs — including LED ZEPPELIN's "When the Levee Breaks" and "Black Dog".

That plant / krauss tour is routed and confirmed for next spring playing indoors and theaters. I can't see their being a TOUR per se but things like bonnaroo could be perfect.

I'm hoping they follow through with the original rumour by playing 4-5 shows at MSG in New York. I think Cream did something like that a couple of years back. That would at lease give fans a better opportunity to see them one last time and keep the purists happy. Myself, I think it would be great for them to play some shows cause there really isn't a band like them or will there ever be. The legacy is untouchable and it needs to be experienced by as many people as possible while the opportunity still exists.

Surely they can muster up a bonifide worthy tour. Mayber 20 conerts 'round the globe. Occupy the planet for a while, put on some great shows - end it after that. 5 nights at MSG, hhmm...sounds like a great DVD package. Different song list each night - could cover the entire catelog if need be.

Do it Zep!

Then, tour with black sabbath, deep purple, & pink floyd in 09' in the concert to end all concerts...

In years past of Roo both Plant and Page have blessed the stages with there performances. I have already read the Plant is a go for the tour starting in Manchester. How ever I am not excited to hear that Metalica is rumored to play Bonnaroo. Sorry I love the band but they are not Bonnaroo material aka Jam Bands. Good news tho we only have a few weeks before Superfly Entertainment and Bonnaroo release the set list at the end of January early February.
