OZZY OSBOURNE And PAUL MCCARTNEY Won't Sing Together At BRIT AWARDS - Jan. 4, 2008
According to Showbiz Spy, rumors of a duet between Paul McCartney and Ozzy Osbourne at this year's the Brit Awards (the British equivalent of the Grammy Awards) have been shot down by the award show's bosses.

The legendary music gods were reported to be collaborating on a unique version of Bond theme "Live And Let Die" for the music bash at London's Earls Court on February 20.

"It is not true at all," says a spokesperson. "Someone made it up."

58-year-old Ozzy — who will be hosting the ceremony with wife Sharon, 55 — is still nervous because he's concerned about making a fool of himself in front of his idol.

"The Brits have been playing on Ozzy's mind," a pal told Britain's Daily Star newspaper. "He's worried about coming a cropper in front of Macca."

Sir Paul, 65, will receive the Outstanding Contribution To Music gong at the award show, to be held in London later this year.

Watch Ozzy Osbourne singing a version of THE BEATLES classic "In My Life" — with Slash on guitar — at the 77th Royal Variety Performance on November 21, 2005 in Cardiff, Wales, UK:

I respect ozzy and all of his accomplishments, but you have to realize when you are done. I saw him at this past year's Ozzfest, and I can't help but feel the time is right to hang it up.

Mccartney is a rich piece of shit who never should have appeared on the super bowl like he did in 2005

Sounds like Oz is using some vocal effects in that video. Maybe some backing tracks.

... I would also like to add that its actually a pretty decent cover but I was surprised slash didn't have a little bit of a lead in there. He didn't really do much.

to those who think there is only one black sabbath and its with ozzy, thats just stupidity, thats like saying ozzy isnt ozzy because randy isnt playing the guitar, i respect everything sabbath did with ozzy, but i also respect everything they did without him too, its too bad not many give the other singers a chance because there are some killer sabbath recordings WITHOUT ozzy

Ozzy used backing tracks at the Ozzfest, at least the one in Hartford. Where I was everyone was looking at each other in a puzzled state, he didn't sound great to begin with, but during certain choruses all of a sudden his voice was crystal clear and a bit louder than the mic. Not to mention, his lips weren't even in synch with the chorus. That is why I am not paying $80 to see him at Mohegan Sun, old fart

i dug this....one of my favorite beatles songs...definate vocal effects, most likely thickened up as of all ozzy's recorded vocals...but for those who like to nit pick...when i saw him on his last tour he only used the backing vocal tracks on his new material such as "i dont wanna stop"...everything else
from "crazy train" to "crowley", to "i dont wanna change the world", to "momma im comming home" was all ozzy, pure and crisp, and it sounded fucking fantastic!!!

Coming a cropper in front of Macca?
What kind of....language is that?
I know British people like to talk weird to be different and that's fine (usually about bums and biscuits and whatnot) but now they are just being silly.
Those are not even real words.

Nothing related to the article here, but for some odd reason I always envisioned the cop who arrested Ozzy for urinating on the Alamo to be like the Louisiana sheriff in "Live And Let Die".

And, yeah, Paul McCartney's past with the Beatles, while defining him, is no excuse for his pretentiousness.

"What are you, boy? Some kind of doomsday machine?!"
