CAVALERA CONSPIRACY: Final 'Inflikted' Album Details Revealed - Jan. 6, 2008
BLABBERMOUTH.NET can exclusively reveal the final track listing for the debut album from CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, the new project featuring SEPULTURA founding members Max (guitar, vocals) and Igor Cavalera (drums) alongside vocalist Joe Duplantier (bass) of the French progressive death metallers GOJIRA and SOULFLY guitarist Marc Rizzo. Entitled "Inflikted", the CD will be released in North America on March 25, 2008 via Roadrunner Records (one day earlier internationally). Rex Brown (PANTERA, DOWN) makes a cameo bass appearance on one track. Another song is a collaboration between Max, Joe and Richie Cavalera (INCITE) on vocals.

This long-anticipated reunion between the Cavalera brothers is something fans across the globe have been waiting for since SEPULTURA's last gig at Brixton Academy in December 1996. Hailing from Belo Horizonte in central Brazil, SEPULTURA gained a legendary reputation as the one of the most highly regarded and successful death/thrash metal bands of all time, with two gold albums under their belts both in the UK and the USA — "Chaos A.D." (1994) and "Roots" (1996).

"When Igor and I met at the 10th annual D-Low Memorial Show [in 2006] and got the instruments in our hands, it was like we had never been separated. The metal was flowing in our veins," Max previously said. "It was the same in the studio."

Recording took place this past July at Undercity Studios in Los Angeles, with rising production star Logan Mader (ex-MACHINE HEAD/SOULFLY guitarist). Among the 11 songs set to appear are "Inflikted", "Bloodbrawl", "Terrorize" (formerly "Holy Poison"), "The Doom of All Fires", "Ultra-Violent" and " Sanctuary". A b-side cover of the POSSESSED death/thrash classic "The Exorcist" was also recorded.

"Inflikted" final track listing:

01. Inflikted
02. Sanctuary
03. Terrorize (formerly "Holy Poison")
04. Black Ark
05. Ultra-Violent
06. Hex
07. The Doom Of All Fires
08. Bloodbrawl
09. Nevertrust
10. Hearts Of Darkness
11. Must Kill

The debut single from the album will be "Sanctuary" and it will go for radio adds on March 3.

CAVALERA CONSPIRACY is currently in Paris, France filming promotional material for the debut album. The band will be in Paris for the video filming and photo session until January 15. Artwork for the album will also be finalized during this meeting of the band.

Watch fan-filmed video footage of CAVALERA CONSPIRACYMax and Igor Cavalera along with Marc Rizzo and GOJIRA's Joe Duplantier — performing the song "Inflikted" at the 11th annual D-Low Memorial concert on August 31, 2007 at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Arizona:

I can understand why there is a hype, but this is nothing but wigger music. No metal flowing here, sorry.

"...Soulfly with Igor... wow."

EXACTLY. I can't get too excited about this. If Andres and Paulo were in the band, and it was called Sepultura, I'd be estacic. But I'll proabably give it a listen anyway. It may be pretty cool.

that song inflikted is the most generic boring shit ive ever heard, it must have taken them literally 1 min to come up with that song.

Max...put some effort into the songwriting like you used to back in the beneath/arise days and dont release generic unispired crap like that song

COMMENT | Cool to see the brothers play together again, but...

...the song if very boring, and I didn't like to see Igor using just one tom-tom, cause I think this is gonna cut down his agressiveness on drums, which is his trademark.

The only good thing about this is that two brothers stopped their bullshit feuding. Now write some good music!

If this is the closest we can get to a Sepultura reunion then they should have liad it to rest. This is Soulfly take #12345 and it's truly uninteresting, and generic chugga-metal.

"since SEPULTURA's last gig at Brixton Academy in December 1996"

Igor is now a perpetrator of the same bullshit that was once thrown in his direction. The fact that he allows this to be said means he is pissing on 4 solid Sepultura albums that he contributed to. No respect!

Sepultura is Andrea Kisser. Listen to Bestial & Morbid and tell me where they would be today without Andrea!
